I think it will. Too much money for PBF to ignore.

I have my doubts, I hope it happens, it needs to happen for boxing.

I just watched HBO Tales of Leonard/Hearns.

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=zSBv2k4KUy0

And public perception was that Leonard was ducking Hearns and that even Dundee admitted that he wanted to wait for the fight to build up to where everyone wanted to see it. So that's why they waited.

Do you guys think that PBF's camp is just waiting for the right time? I mean after PBF beats DLH, it will be an even bigger fight that people want to see. Makes business sense. Or do you guys think PBF is ducking Cotto? I mean history will remember this clearly if PBF never fights Cotto and hold it seriously against him. If PBF wants to be an ATG, he has to fight Cotto.

    yeah maybe.

Who wants to see Floyd fight DLH again though. I expect the same fight and will not be buying it.

I suppose Cotto fighting Gomez is good for Cotto's name recognition, Gomez carries alot of weight because of the Contender.

Right now this is the fight that I want to see most and I would immagine most boxing fans would agree with that.

If it doesn't happen after their next two fights then I will definately be asking what the **** are the waiting for.

Yes, I think PBF is waiting for Cotto to take care of the other champions and then he'll fight him.

This fight will surely happen. PBF is just waiting for Cotto to build up his name more so that there is more $$$

And another thing to add is that although Hearns lost his fight with Leonard, his legacy was enhanced in the loss. I think the same could happen to PBF. Say he loses a tough one to Cotto. History will view that scenario more kindly than if he never fought Cotto. Would you guys agree?

Yeah I think it will happen around March or April of 2009....Let Cotto dispose of a couple of more welterweights and you have a mega fight for all the belts

It could really work against him too though because people will always be pointing out his "cherry picking" before he finally lost. But in reality he is not at his best at 147, so you have a point

If Cotto doesn't lose against Gomez, Margarito-Cintron winner, Mayorga<
If Mayweather beats DLH (then maybe a Hatton rematch)<

It will happen. MONEY TALKS FOLKS

Arum, Mayweather and Cotto probably have already made their plans, all together in Arum's office. They will make it even more marketable and make it happen in 2009.

At this moment in time, I'm not so sure. I am truly hoping that this fight does happen and since it doesn't look like it's going to happen this year, hopefully it will happen next year.
