Do you think Povetkin would beat Joshua?

Povetkin is better. Joshua is stronger and younger.

That's rich coming from the guy who thinks Joshua is the GOAT and always blindly picks him in every single hypothetical matchup. You know nothing about me.

 

Come on now, i know you like those eastern european guys but how is Povetkin a better finisher or combination puncher than AJ ? I have seen most of his fights and i can't see how he is better.

I think Povetkin is a really good fighter and i'm not a hater but he is not better than AJ.

 

In all seriousness, I think this is the HW fight I'd like to see the most.
Joshua showed vs Wlad that he is buisness, and Povetkin always brings the pressure and have the skill and power to KO anyone in the division.
I can't imagine this going to the cards. Either Joshua lands another of those uppercuts when Povetking tries to get on the inside or Povetkin just overwhelms him while gassing mid rounds.

But Povetkin's combination punching is top shelf. I haven't watched that much AJ; maybe I missed the good fights?

It would be a great scrap while it lasted.

 

I must say I'd say Povetkin is a much better combination thrower. Joshua lives much more on his one punch power, and can do flurries when his oponent is traped against the ropes.

 

Povetkin is a good combination puncher but AJ is faster and has better punch variety, Povetkin is mostly dangerous with hooks and AJ is dangerous with every punch especially with uppercuts.

 

But combinations is about how you put punches together to make them dangerous, not how dangerous any particular punch is?

 

LOL the only problem with this site ( bar a few exceptions of some decent posters) is most of the answers to these kind of questions are not what people think will happen but rather what they would like to see happen.

Everybody has a chance, but i don't see povetkin beating AJ

 

Youtube AJ / Pov Knock Out and you will see how AJ usually ends his fight with one giant blow, follow up by the usual "get down, stay down" while Povetkin mostly land 3 or more punches at each KO.

 

Have you ever seen him fight ? Anthony Joshua is regarded as a great combination puncher by everyone, if you
get hit with a combination by AJ, you gonna get hurt, he puts his punches together perfectly, he is not perfect
and he has some flaws like every other fighter but his combination punching is second to none.

 

There are also people who refuse to entertain the possibility of a live underdog, which is what Povetkin would be here. If Whyte and a 41 year old Klitschko can put Joshua into serious trouble, why couldn't Povetkin?

 

I clearly disagree, I think Povetkin throws better combinations.

What fight with AJ would you recomend to make me see what I'm missing?
