Do you think Povetkin would beat Joshua?

It really comes down to this. AJ has decent punch resistance and can come back after being wobbled. Povetkin hasn't proven that; quite the contrary. AJ would be a massive favorite.

 

Watch his last three fights against Breazeale, Molina and Wlad Klitschko if you haven't watched them already, he needs a lot less punches than Povetkin to hurt his opponent and puts his punches together perfectly, he also is a
better counterpuncher than Povetkin and has better timing and accuracy.

By the way i'm not saying Povetkin isn't a good puncher, i only think that AJ is a notch above him, i think AJ is the
only one who is better than Povetkin in that department.

 

I like Joshua but he is being billed as some invincible wrecking machine on these boards in spite of showing huge weaknesses against the only opponents who came to win. I don't get it.

 

In fact you don't like him, you try to belittle him.

He showed weaknesses against Wlad and beat all of his other opponents in extremely dominant fashion despite
having only 19 fights, of course he has weaknesses but everybody has weaknesses, nobody is saying he is invincible.

 

Yes, Joshua punches harder (better?) then Povetkin. Probably with any hand/punch.
But in my view combinations are multiple punches, set together to land that one punch or multiple hurting punches. It's about the accurace and flow between the punches.

If you land a 1-2 (even if you only need a 1-2 to finish your opponent) I wouldn't regard that as a combination. I also not saying Joshua is a bad combination punsher, but he doesn't even have to be. He doesn't even have to land clean to hurt someone.

 

Joshua and Povetkin are both very good combination punchers. I'm not sure who is better at throwing combos. Either way, neither of them will be able to take too many combos from each other.

 

Joshua is not a 1-2 guy, he is a sharp shooter who throws fast combinations when a good opportunity is given.
Povetkin is more of a pressure fighter than AJ and he throws more combinations but in my opinion AJ is more
effective with his combinations and therefore a better combination puncher but Povetkin is also very good.

 

I think Joshua finishes opponents with a good variety of punches as you have said, not just a 1-2.

 

Povetkin has better combinations but what does that help when he's a full head shorter than AJ -- and AJ is good as good as Povetkin otherwise? Its just a mismatch just like Wlad vs. Povetkin.

 

He has the same chance as Tua when he fought Lewis....really ppl are confusing competitive fights with close ones...they are FAR off. And really Tua had a better chin, you are asking a much smaller guy to go up against arguably a top 5 puncher against anyone Joshua would be compared too.


Comparing a Joshua against whyte in his 16th fight and a joshua in his 20th something fight isnt realistic either...this is boxing 101. Povetkin would be in way over his head here.

Joshua by 5th rnd TKO or K.O. with any version of Povetkin.

 

Headvetkin can't beat elite fighters. He doesn't have the style to. He has no chance. Wilder has a great chance. Nobody that you like can fight. Nobody lol. Now take your fat ass bacon back fat ass back, back to the drawing board with your critical thinking fat man.

 

Let's see how fresh he looks in his next fight. Even so, he's capable but I wouldn't have him as the favourite anymore. I was big on Pov to be honest and then he turned out to be a roid boy so I had to scuttle back under my rueful rock.

I think Wilder and Parker have less chances against him and we don't need to talk about Fury, he doesn't even fight
at the moment and i'm not sure if he even wants to fight again.

Wilder is to passive and easily off set by a jab and knocked off balance...Povetkin has about the same chance even though hes aggressive hes also going to be undersized and going right into Joshua isnt smart at all,but thats how he fights.

Ortiz is a southpaw which would be perfect for Joshuas counter right hand,and Parker is just a mismatch period.

its all subjective really. If i had to put a guess i would say Ortiz is the more solid fighter and experianced..also a good size HW which Povetkin isnt really if he were to be matched with Joshua...i think the one who can set up the punches better has the best chance...Ortiz.

Wlad still has the best chance wheather ppl except that or not.
