Prime Shane was just a straight up monster. He shouldn't have moved up so quickly, but pursued the bigger fights. Him jumping two weight classes and beating ODLH at 147 (someone who's one of the best at Welter) should put into perspective how good Shane was when at his absolute prime at 135.

Mayweather at 135 was simply amazing, but let's not forget that he is the same guy at 135 who lost to Jose Luis Castillo.
Shane was the better athlete and could cause the upset. I'd roll with Mayweather, though.

Floyd got all he could handle from Castillo in their first fight. Hard to imagine that a prime Mosely wouldn't have gotten in Floyd's sh!t.

A threat yes but he would have come up short like everyone else did. Shane struggled against elite boxers see the Forrest and Winky fights for reference.:deal:

You seem to have a hard time dealing in reality, he never lost to JLC, he was 2-0 against him:deal:

They had a size advantage though. I think this could be a fight for the ages with both fighters bringing out the best in each other. It's easy to think of the WW or LMW Shane when analysing this fight but for me that'd be like thinking of Toney by his last few HW performances.

Mayweather should be the favourite but not by much IMO.

    Fair post
Shane would be very dangerous early as he was in their fight he was more of a complete fighter at 135 than he was at 147 or 154 he went to the body there. With that said PBF would make adjustments and pull away in the second half of the fight, his lateral movement would give Shane hell. Shane's "power boxing" style that he used isn't well suited against master boxers like PBF. He simply doesn't have the ring IQ to make the correct adjustments over the course of a fight, when he realizes that he just can't overwhelm PBF with his speed like he did everyone else at 135. Then what? He won't have a plan B.

Yeah, I hear that. It's a great match up as the clash of styles would pretty much guarantee it'd be a good fight. Mosley would have to try and overwhelm Floyd's defence which would make for a great spectacle. If Castillo can give him problems then I believe Shane certainly would of.

We would have found out but Shane had a toothache when he got called out by a prime young Floyd. But people will say it's not true even though it's documented on video Floyd calling him out and Shane saying he has a to go to the dentist.

Would have been more competitive for sure.
    Floyd still outboxes him though.

Of course he would, a shot Mosley had Floyd briefly out on his feet.
