    What do you guys think
Do you think Ricky will change his training habits after last week lost ? Looking at the fight for a second and third time, Hatton seem to welt under the strain he was putting himself though to ware Floyd down ..No doubt his weight fluctuation in between fights may have played a part in his loss.

If so how much of a factor do you think this played if any ?

He might not change his training but not allow himself to blow up between fights. But even then, weight was not an issue in the fight with Floyd.

He needs to stop powerlifting and hitting that body bag and do more traditional boxing training to improve his stamina and technique. He also needs to stop gorging himself on bad food and alcohol.

how effective is that training, besides a workout, technique where Ricky hits the body bag that his trainer wears?

True weight was not an issue , but I do believe over conditioning was.

Ricky Hatton does not need to change anything. The 24/7 series showed that he trained very hard and brought his "A" game. He needs to stay at 140, plain and simple. Even there, he has quite a set of challenges. Floyd is a freak of nature. He brought the type of game Ricky was just not used to. Ricky Hatton is a very good fighter, and has nothing to be ashamed of. He gave all Floyd could handle for 10 rounds. An interesting thing to note, from the 24/7 series, is particularly how Ricky and crew mocked Floyds training with Roger - the "pitty patter" movements, while Ricky was exploding into the big body bag with the grunting. Floyds drills were timing based, while Ricky's were power based. Great timing will beat great power, every time. In the end, it was a timed shot that stopped Ricky, which lends credit to his statement how Floyd is not the hardest puncher he's ever faced. Accuracy, the definition of Floyd's punching, is the result of great timing.

I think so. Ricky needs to not just change his training habits. He should increase his hand speed dramatically, and also get a bit more power. Also I think something that would benefit him would be a slightly bigger frame (broader shoulders, longer arms, longer legs). If he would just grow up to about 5'9" or so, I think he would do a lot better. I realize this is a tall order, but I bet Ricky can do it!

Oh and also, he should become a master boxer.

Bums? Sure Calzaghe has fought lots of bums. But I don't see why people on this forum are so ready to call Kessler a bum. I realize we haven't seen him in too many fights, but those other fights, as well as his performance with Calzaghe show pretty clearly I thin that he's a good fighter.

What does he do that makes you think he's a class B fighter? He hasn't fought the highest level of competition, but for pete's sake just watch him fight.

Hatton defintley needs to change his training habits, such as using sparring parnters, instead of that big body bag. He could also learn a thing a two from Chavez. Chavez was a great body puncher, he didn't need to clinch to pound his opponents to the body, and when he couldn't fight on the inside, he was still a pretty good technical boxer. Hatton needs to learn how to fight on the outside without depending so much on brawling, and he can box, it's just that he needs improvement.

How much does Hatton balloon up to between fights, anyway?

Like 30 to 25 pounds, but he still can't fight above junior welterweight. A lot of fighters are like that, I mean there is some fighters who walk around 140 (Donaire) and they get to the 115lb limit during fight night.

First of all he should of never let Oscar pick his sparing partners. Hatton needs to spar with someone that will force him to rely on defence skills other than clenching. Someone strong eneough to push him around but also keen eneogh to make Hatton depend on constant head movement and hand/eye coordination.
