Only if they are dumb enough to use while in camp, but between fights in an era where you fight twice per year they could be juiced 8 months of the year and always come up clean like all the current juicing fighters do.

Hopkins was very effective against southpaws, beating loads during his career quite comfortably.

Toney fought at cruiser and heavyweight yet a GGG takes his prime, nah I don't see it.

You've posted some crazy stuff in the past Mark, but please tell me that you're not being serious here.

    Is this a serious question?

Are you familiar with their careers?

I don't know if this is a serious question or a trolling question just for a joke.

    The fighters don't keep improving.

There are whole divisions which are considerably weaker now than what they were years ago.

We will never know. It's all conjecture.

    Not really.

    We can see what's happening.

Canelo is a great fighter, but the current SMW division is nowhere near as strong as what it was 25-30 years ago.

That's not conjecture if you lived through the era.

Just like how the current MW division is nowhere near as strong as the MW division from 30 years ago.

    I'd rank them this way.
    Jones
    Hopkins
    Golovkin
    Toney
    Canelo

Roy was the best, Hopkins then and their times were stronger than the Golovkin/Canelo era, imo.

Golovkin and Toney is close, but GGG was more consistently dependable and has kept an admirably high level. P4P Toney is above GGG for what he did at higher weights.

I don't think Canelo deserved a draw in the first GGG fight and I don't think he beat Golovkin in the return either. I don't believe he did enough in the rematch to take the belts from the champ. The second fight may have been a draw though.

I do like what Canelo has done at different weights, but Jones and Hopkins opposition was better, again imo.

I'd say that he must have hit it twice.

Harry Greb was the best middleweight ever. Dempsey the best HW.

It's the only sport where people get worse over time.

The only fair thing to do is compare how fighters did against there contemporaries.

Comparing fighters between different eras is mostly hokum.

Just my view. I respect yours may differ.
