Do you think some fans of fighters like Rigo PRETEND to be fans of them?

I don't think Rigondeaux had (even before the Loma fight) many fans. But those few who were, they did not pretend, no.

The Floyd case is more interesting. He was (well, is) almost a genius promoter who managed to draw people who didn't care about boxing at all (especially his boxing, LOL). I'm sure a casual Floyd Mayweather's fan could not watch his entire fight home alone — he would be bored to death. Yet, they flowed to his fights more like to a rock gig (or something like that), followed (and still do) him and his life on social media, TV, etc.
