The money never has been there for this fight. It's more valuable competitively than commercially, so unless they are willing to take shorter money it's not going to work. They can milk purses in "okay" fights with a lot less risk. Sucks but there you have it.

The issue is it's two American black fighters, neither who has a big personality or mainstream appeal. How do you sell this fight to casuals?

 

People used to say that Arum was causing this fight to not happen, but after watching these guys posture for months and no fight has been announced, I think it's the fighters themselves that prevented this fight from happening.
