No Way! Tarver was gasping for air against Clinton Woods (who boxed horribly) and Calzaghe will push him to the limit for the full 12 rounds assuming it even goes that far. Tarver will get absolutely destroyed if he fights Joe- he hasn't got the stamina, the workrate, the handspeed or the brain to even contemplate fighting Calzaghe at this stage.

It would be completely one sided.

Tarver can beat Calzaghe, but he will have to able to sit behind the jab the whole night, if not, Clazghes workrate will kill him. He could also try for an early round knockout, Tarver still has a ton of power and his straight punches, if he can counter Joe coming in, it could be an ealry night for Joe. I would favor Calzaghe, but I wouldnt be surprised to see Tarver beat Calzaghe.

I wouldn't put money on it, but I would say he has a chance for an early KO.

Calzaghe might be able to actually KO Tarver, which says something cause I don't think Calzaghe can KO anybody at this point. Tarver would be so exhausted from trying to hit Calzaghe and than exhausted from taking 500 plus punches through 5 rounds that he would just fall through the ropes and not get back up!

Nice catch on a stupid statement. What I should've said is that I don't think much of Calzaghe's power at this point, but that Tarver has declined to the point that he might get hit so much that he would get TKOed.

So getting flash KD'd, not even hurt, equates to having the chance of being KTFO anytime you're in with a puncher?:yep

    You tools amaze me.

Tarver aint getting knocked out, he has a great chin. Tarver is better than most give him credit for, if Jones stepped back in the ring with him again, he would still get that ass beat. If Tarver came in at top shape, he could beat Calzaghe primarily with his jab alone, if Calzaghe starts throwing wild slaps, one punch from Tarver could lay him out, especially early on.

Tarver has declined big time. I love how he beats Woods and obliously he must have something left. Tarver is way older than Hopkins in boxing years!

This would be another ugly fight, again

Look at how Tarver fought against Woods. He's another that runs, sits on the ropes and looks to counterpunch. Joe looks bad against these types of fighter, but he'll still outwork him simply because Tarver fights in spurts, and is not as cute as Hopkins

It looks a lot like Hopkins, only not as many clinches, and a clearer decision for Calzaghe
