For those who are familiar with Tasana Salapat "Petch CP Freshmart / Petch Sor Chitpattana " the Petchyindee boxer with an impressive 80-2 record (54 KOs) who only lost to Junto Nakatani and Takuma Inoue, do you think he was, or still is, world-class in the bantamweight division? Even though his opponents haven't always been of a decent regional level, I find him far more convincing than Anuchai Donsua or Navapon Khaikanha. I also remain convinced that he's better than former champions like Paul Butler and Ryan Burnett, and I'd like to see him fight Jason Moloney, because I'm certain he could put up a huge fight against him.
No, I do not think Salapat Is a world class fighter. You mentioned his only two losses to Nakatani and T. Inoue. The problem is that there really isn’t anyone else out of all those 80 fights he had who is really worth mentioning. He is an a very good domestic fighter and a prime example of the Thai system where good fighters keep busy against lesser foes. Until he fights somebody else of quality it’s hard to think of him as world class rather than just domestic quality.
