Do you think that Cain's legacy will eventually surpass Cro Cop, Nog or *gasp* Fedor?

Cain appears to be a ****ing beast. All of us can acknowledge that.

How good do you think he actually is, though?

Do you see him as a potential HW GOAT?

Or a top two or three guy?

Or are you not THAT impressed with him?

Where do you see Cain ending up? Does he have the stuff to be the best ever, or is he a top-5 or top-10 guy? :think

Hmmm.... he's in for a stern challenge. He has Dos Santos, Overeem and Cormier snapping at his heels. If he makes chickin mc'mincemeat outta those boys, then he's in for a shout of 2nd GOAT

Think JDS's resume is deeper at the moment. The eventual rematch is crucial as are match ups with a k1 Champ in Reem and a Olympian like Cormier, for both guys

There's a good argument they have passed Mirko though

He has done that a couple of times recently. Stoo has been less of a troll lately, and scurla has disappeared almost entirely. The subforum is better for it, in my opinion. Much more civil discussion about MMA, much less infantile trolling and flame wars. :conf

And yes, I think the level of competition is there. If Cain distinguishes himself as the standout of himself, Overeem and JDS, plus beats the likes of Werdum, Struve (in a couple of years) and a few other up and comers/vets, (which he's more than likely to do) then he's gotta be a lock for #2 and a serious challenge for #1.

Of course, that's assuming that he beats Overeem and then puts a nice run together for the next three, four, five years. Which he certainly looks capable of doing.

But then, if JDS sparks him in the rubber match, then Junior will have the upper hand. His resume is great now, and he's got several years at the top level left in him. :conf

As of now he ranks above JDS, wherever the hell that may be. He's a more complete fighter, but he has many, many more challenges in front of him. Cormier v JJ winner, Werdum, Antonio Silva II or Overeem... For all we know Overeem may never get there.

But, to answer the OP I predict that he will be #2 or 3 when it's all said and done. If he goes undefeated for the next few years he will be 20 something and 1. I don't think he needs 30 wins to make a case because I view the Sport more competitive than ever. I will asses then, or bump this thread. We don't have as many specialist anymore, most are true Mixed Martial Artist. Men like Overeem, Big Country, and Werdum are better than ever now. We don't have Olympians and Kickboxers jumping into the premiere organization in the world. Not anymore I think. No, you will have to earn it, you will have to fight your way into The UFC.

So imo, it's going to be very hard for him to build up a 3 year/ 10 fight winning streak. But, I believe he has it in him. I wanna see him fight his buddy Cormier. Years ago Cormier almost died trying to make 200lbs, for all we know challengening JJ for his belt will do more hurt than help. I truly believe that Cormier belongs at HW, and is making a big mistake holding off a potential Title Fight in this division. I wanna see him against Skyscraper Struve (if the man continues to improve), but most importantly Werdum. I wanna see if JJ can make it to the top of this division too, so a lot of questions will be answered over the next year or two. Can't wait.

Cain can already be ranked above everyone but Fedor and he will overtake Fedor within 2 or 3 years.

Well if Cain can beat Reem, JDS, Cormier, and Werdum than he has a case for being number one. That's a big if though.
