A potential Floyd/Pac doesn't have anything to do with the TS question, and neither does my answer to it as well. Do you think the current Pac would beat Oscar and Cotto in the same fashion that he he did a couple of years ago?......I say yes personally cause of the circumstances where both fighters thought they could attack Pacman without any real serious consequences.
TBH and to Pac's credit, I don't really see it. If there's a decline (which is natural for someone of his age and style) it's slight. He still looked fast against Marquez and was landing alotta punches that were hard to see in real time. He still moves around the ring very well in that darting in-and-out motion, and I definitely see no let-up in his gas tank. I think what's really changed is his style which gives the appearance of him maybe slowing down. He's more methodical and less reckless. As oppose to those younger frenetic versions that fought Morales and Barrerra or even the one that fought Cotto. Overall, physically and technically Pac is at or somewhere near his prime. Maybe not as hungry or gung-ho, but given the right motivation I'm sure he can still pretty much duplicate his best regarded attributes; which is to outpunch and outgun anyone who chooses to engage. This in itself is amazing given his style, the size handicaps he normally gives up, and the continued duration of his dominance. For some perspective Erik Morales who has a similar balls-out mentality was considered battle-worn by the age of 29.
Pacquiao's longevity has been fantastic considering his style. He's been in a lot of wars, especially at the lower weights. He's a truly special athlete.
Well! Maybe it's too fast to conclude that he's on the decline now. Lets watch Pac next fight against another big name fighter who we still don't know he is now. I think that we can have a clearer picture than what we have already seen.
Even the HBO commentators agreed during the margarito fight he was slowing down. It's plain to see. He will never as sharp as he was at the time he fought de la hoya again.
After a while people catch on to ur style, it happens..but despite that hes still overcoming his opponents atleast. Its hard to say how much hes.declined. Especially after the jmm n mosleys fighting styles that hed had to deal with. People critisize pacs win vs these 2. But what ppl forget is pac still demolished mosely and outlanded arguably the best counter puncher in the game. Physically yes theres a little decline, but mentally &technically hes still at his peak
everyone declines in their 30's. but pacquiao and mayweather are STILL fast and powerful with pretty damn good stamina and reflexes. smaller fighters dont get shot as fast as the higher weight classes. just look at marquez and morales they can still pull the trigger. i hope people dont use this "declining" a an excuse for if mayweaher whoops him. of course its easy to look good against people who stand in front of you like margarito and clottey. mosley simply used movement and kept pacquiao off balance which is why he "looked bad". marquez used movement BUT actually threw punches and actually tried to win. if u put pacquiao in the ring against drained de la hoya or margarito today he will look just his old self. its all an illusion to casual fans and *******s.
Yeah, put him in with another weightdrained just ko'ed in his previous fight flatfooted face first brawler and suddenly he is going to be "Prime " again...........Fools who bought into skillful matchmaking courtesy of Arum/Roach............and I guarantee that Pac has more to say in picking those **** fights then people are let to believe..........the proof is in the pudding, he is literally running for the hills to avoid Mayweather by all means necessecary. Anyway, FMJ would /will beat this one trick pony at ANY weight at ANY time in their respective career. Fact.
I remember watching the Margo fight... and kellerman was commenting that he didnt' look as explosive... Roach and Pac himself said that fighting at 150 did make him a bit slower. However, that's 3 fights where he has not looked quite as fast, and I also think he doesn't have the same hunger, and who could blame him... I think he's declined a bit, which is normal. Dude is not superman. I don't see how Roach has 4 or even 5 more fights planned. It would be ideal for him to retire at the end of 2012.
Pacquaio is well pass his prime, which is why little Floyd wants the fight all of a sudden. This is why he couldnt knock out Marquez and why he couldnt catch mosley, because he was obviously pass his prime.

Ive said this for awhile now, and yet get called on it by people who dont think he is. If someone doesnt think he is, and is just facing styles that trouble him... fair enough. But how youre going to tell me that Pac isnt declined when he just fought a 38 year old JMM at a weight JMM shouldnt be fighting at (and Pac is very good at) and just arguably had the closest fight between them (meaning, this third fight was a lot closer then the ones they had when JMM was younger and at his better weight) and people are going to tell me he hasnt declined? nah... to me he has. He looked lost in there with JMM this last time, and worse he started looking gunshy, like he was actually hesitent of JMMs counters. add to that, that its simply reality that a guy whos had a career as long as pacs, whos been as many wars as pac, whos fought at the level he has been for as long as he has, and who trains as hard as he does and who has the intense sparring wars that he does is going to decline sooner rather then later.... Im comfortable in thinking hes declined.... if he proves me wrong and comes back with a vintage performence then thats awesome, but until he does, in my eyes... he is past his prime. still elite, still awesome, but hes not the pac that was in 2008 and 2009. Imo
