This content is protected I feel compubox is completely redundant, how do you feel about Linares maybe being ahead on an official scorecard?!
Having watched it twice, I think Lomachenko should've been ahead at the time of the stoppage. Those sort of YouTube videos don't really convince me, however what tends to happen is that the judges see the punch thrown, hear the impact, and assume it landed - when Loma actually blocked it.
The fight was close and great. After initial first 2 rounds which are quiet even, Loma is starting to dominate and pulled away. The KD in the 6 reenergise Linares and alter the mood of the fight. Without the KD it's pretty much a Loma fight
I think it was a close fight. Many rounds were not that easy to score for the judges. It was (well, for me, at least) a great fight to watch (in addition to the fight night itself I have already watch the replay two times). As @pincai said, after the initial a couple of rounds Lomachenko started if not dominate but find the rhythm and break Linares' spirit. The knockdown kind of restarted the dynamics of the fight — Loma had to start from the beginning and Linares cheered up. From the one side, this (the KD) was very unfortunate (for Loma), but, from the other side it was a great lesson. In general, this fight was a great lesson and experience for Lomachenko — I'm sure it will improve him as a (professional) boxer. Anyway, fighting at 135 will be harder for him than at 130, though, there should be almost no doubt about it.
R1: close round, scoring it 10-9 Linares, 10-10, 10-9 Lomachenko is all okay! R2: Loma R3: Loma R4: Loma R5: Loma R6: Linares 10-8 R7: close round, i think 10-9 Linares or 10-10 is okay, leaning torwards 10-9 Linares, think Loma didn't do enough to win it but still close R8: Loma R9: Linares R10: TKO So yes it was relatively close, i think it's okay to have Loma up after 9 rounds, my score is a draw till the TKO but as i wrote we have at least two close rounds where it's pretty hard to tell who won the round. It was a great fight. Linares did well overall but Loma was still in control.
I had loma ahead by at least 3 rounds. Which is close considering he KO'd Linares in the 10th. It was a great competitive fight.
It was wide. I had the first even. Feeling out round. 2345 Loma. 6 Linares. 7 maybe even. 8 Loma. 9 JL. 10 destruction. So overall Loma won convincingly & comfortably. The above video demonstrates it. Its a noteworthy fight overall though & will always be judged ad such. Linares did well but it wasn't close, it just wasn't. Remarkable performance & finish by Loma
I thought it was closely contested but clear in Loma’s favor at the time of the stoppage. I saw the fight live from a floor seat and rewatched it twice on HD. If anyone thinks it was a draw or in Linares’s favor, I would be happy to sit down with them and show them how to score a boxing match. Was it a great fight? Near great because of the skill of the opponents and the ability of Loma to beat the bigger man. 135 looks too big for him in general.
That's how good Loma is: a bunch of Loma haters need to cite a TKO victory as to how he "isn't that great". Reminds me of Golovkin breaking Brook's face and hearing "Brook exposed him".
Competitive but not close. I thought Lomachenko was in control the whole fight apart for the KD. He wore down Linares and the 10th round was a beatdown that was always gonna happen.
It wasn’t close at all. Linares won two rounds, the same as GRJ. Like GRJ he was in there trying from start to finish and doing well for what he has, but being clearly and comfortably outclassed. Lomachenko was starting to style on him, got relaxed and got knocked down. Lomachenko came back to win the next round in a more cautious manner, then went up the gears again until he knocked out Linares with one punch. GRJ finished so he did better than Linares, but Linares at least has the honour of being the second most competitive against Lomachenko. Compubox is absolute junk by the way, and the judges were just as bad as in the GRJ fight.
