Do you think there is a chance of Hopkins/Kessler being made?

Yes, the reason was to enforce his position as mandatory for Mundine's WBA title.

When Mundine vacated rather than face Kessler, Mogens Palle arranged for Miranda to be bumped in the WBA rankings and the shot at the vacant title against Kessler was offered to Miranda.

    Strange kind of avoiding that...

I'm always a little wary to belive Kessler actually ducked Miranda, I'm sure he'd have been more than happy to fight him, but i reckon his management pulled and we'll probably never be given the whole story.

Why would Kessler duck Miranda when he was happy to go to wales and fight Joe Calzaghe?

Are you getting mixed up with Kessler and Pavlik? because by that description, it's almost like you sounded out Pavlik?

Look at the fight Kessler gave Calzaghe, technically Kessler is great, he has power, a granite chin, despite what you said, his footwork is excellent, and he has feriously fast power punches in his locker.

Hopkins of course is a master ring general, but he would never be able to do to Kessler what he did to Pavlik, if he tries, he gets beaten, his best hope is an ugly fight like against Calzaghe.... except... I don't think Hopkins has the stanima against Kessler who would most likely swarm him for 12 rounds, and pick him off with his jab.

Like i care. I know what i meant. Let's see if Kessler is willing to enhance his legacy in the next couple of years by taking on some of our US fighters in the states. There's plenty of options.

Lets think. Hopkins vs Pavlik, a hot up and coming American, does miserable numbers. Kessler is only known to Americans as the guy who lost to Calzaghe in a largely ignored fight. How much money is there likely to be? it's high risk/low reward for Kessler and Hopkins only wants to fight a couple of stars names, so no I would say there is virtually no chance of this fight happening.

can you imagine how boring that would be?

B-hop is in the same boat as Joe, fight Dawson or retire

besides, Kessler has alot of competition to chose from in his own weight class....

The only one that would give him trouble is Hopkins, Dawson can't be mooted unless Kessler steps up, which I don't see, in Kesslers division, there are no real American threats there.

This strange obsession that American fans have with sub standard fighters is odd, thank god Pavlik was exposed or he'd be shouted out.

    As above.

Kessler was in negotiations for a fight with Miranda. He was then made mandatory challanger for the WBA title against Mundine, so broke off negotiations to pursue that fight.

People are free to make their own judgements about that decision. Some feel that beating Miranda would have been good for Kessler's image in the USA, others that the title belt gives him leverage in securing the fights he wants.

Mundine, rather than taking another beatdown from Kessler, said he was going to MW and vacated his title. The title shot was then offered to Edison Miranda. Miranda, by this point, was negotiating with Abraham and chose to turn down the Kessler fight and stay with the Abraham one.

The fact that Mogens Palle went to the extent of asking the WBA to move Miranda up in their rankings to allow him to fight for the title (as Miranda had never beaten a top 50 SMW) should prove to all but the most delusional that Kessler had no interest in avoiding Miranda.

Yes there is. Also plenty of scope for some of those US fighters to 'enhance their legacy' by likewise coming to Europe to fight the likes of Kessler and Froch. Yes?
