Re the farce that was the Hopkins vs Dawson fight? IMO absolutely there should be. Hopkins getting his belt back - ok I can stomach that AS LONG AS he's ordered to rematch and prove he is the better fighter than his mandatory. If he doesnt and skips Dawson then it will confirm what I already believe. That is that Hopkins is a fraud.

And in fact if the WBC dont order a rematch then I lose respect for them also and would have to put them in the same farcial category as the WBA with its nonsense titles like World Champion..and Super World Champion. :patsch

Yes, absolutely. And I think Hopkins wins clearly this time as well.

    Of course...
That would be something. Keeping the belt by accident, while you're even the underdog and then no rematch?!? That's "bovine excrement"!

I expect Dawson to UD B-Hop if there ever is a rematch

Honestly, if that shoulder is really hurt, he's going to be out for a few months unable to train.

By the time Hopkins is able to train again, renegotiate the $$$ and do a training camp.. it might be a year before he's in the ring with Dawson.

Will Hopkins want it that bad since he's still got the belt and can retire as champ?

"The Dawson Fiasco" isn't enough to hurt Hopkins legacy.

Hopkins is going to say that he tried to face Dawson and was fouled so blatantly that the belt didn't even change hands.

He's going to say that the CA Commission backed the bogus call by the ref just to they could save face.

...and he's going to be right...

So why bother with a rematch if you are Hopkins? Just to erase any doubt in the public's mind? Doe's Hopkins care about that? Does Dawson? I don't think so...

Also, by then there will likely be a bigger fight on the table for Hopkins. Maybe a weak Heavyweight with the WBA strap?

There should, in theory, be a rematch - but judging by the rumoured abysmal PPV sales, and the shambles that those few people witnessed, I can't see it happening.

Theres never a need for a rematch when someone embarrassingly quit after two rounds in the first fight..

There's a thing about fighting Hopkins twice, Sergundo Mercuardo was never heard from again, Jermain Taylor never looked right after, and I'm curious to see how Pascal is. He may well ruin fighters.

The fight will most likely be ruled an NC. I don't think the shoulder is seriously hurt, and I think Hopkins is capable of fighting by February. If there is a rematch it will be on Showtime.

I dunno. I separated my shoulder once falling on it with less force than Hopkins did. It took several months for it to heal completely and I couldn't train at all during that time.

I do agree that any rematch might be on Showtime, unless they can stack the under card and they try to put it back on PPV. However, i just don't think there will be any desire from either team to have one.

Hopkins has nothing to gain and Dawson already said he doesn't want a rematch.

The final ruling on the decision really doesn't matter at this point. Hopkins doesn't care about a loss because he's had several, and everyone knows Dawson didn't TKO him.

    I think so as well.
I didn't watch the fight but it was said that Hopkins was icing the same shoulder that he injured after first round?

I also what to know what happens if the results doesn't get changed?

I don't like any of the choice.

WOuldn't be a travesty if it doesn't happen...

I think it should as it didn't produced any conclusion.

I wouldn't mind if DAWSON was to fight Pascal instead.

    Better fight.

Don't mind about Hopkins never fighting again...

How is he a fraud? He actually fought the dude. Chad Dawson is not this strong, dominant fighter to instill fear on anyone. That is funny.

I still think the injury is questionable, keep in mind Hopkins is a professional boxer, he's build to endure pain, especially in the shoulder area, and the fall wasn't even that hard. Both boxers have changed their minds about a possible rematch, and have recently said on twitter they are willing to fight again.
