I think sky sports did an article saying WBA will allow the winner to not face the mandatory straight away if there's a valid reason.. so hopefully the two mandatory issue is a big enough reason!
Yea I agree. Hearn said in an interview he doesn't think AJ will fight again til October, November or December time. Means a Wlad fight (assuming he takes on Pulev in those months) would be next year and would Wlad really want to wait?
No Wladimir shouldn't wait. He should fight someone he can still beat in the autumm and if he wins call it a career.
I am not sure Wlad even knows himself, yet My guess is that he will take it. But I think the public will less enthused when (if) they hear it announced
If Wlad wants the rematch it will be next. Joshua isn't going to be able to fight Pulev or anyone else before unless Wlad says he can. They sign contracts for a reason.
Agree I thought Wlad went out on his shield, Joshua went out as an ass. I saw very little real respect afforded Wlad post fight-patronizing, and phony. "Smirks" when he knew Wlad was through. Brazen talk in front of 90,000. He should have just nodded respect and left the ring. He was getting his ass kicked most of the fight
No, after the initial post fight interview, Wlad's subsequent interviews sounded much more thoughtful and ambivalent about a return. It would be a bad idea, aj will only get better and he'll only get worse. And you can't really go out better than this in some ways, and I think he knows it and will retire.
Not sure it happens but think Joshua wins more convincingly if it does. To be hinest it's a good time for Wlad to bow out and for Joshua to move on and unify.
Yes, there is a lot of money to be made by both men. And if Wlad wins, he moves further up the ATG list.
Fury beat Wlad easy but lots were claiming it would be different in a rematch. Joshua & Wlad have a fight that was 50/50 right up until the 11th round but that's not worth a rematch?
I think there will be. Since Wladimir was winning before the KO, and hurt Joshua a few times, I think Wladimir will look back at the tapes, and see he was close to beating him, and he has a very good chance in the rematch. Wladimir has always preformed significantly better in rematches.
If Wlad was being dominated of course he should pass the torch. But he had Joshua in serious trouble in there and had him do some soul searching. Wlad, tho, has nothing to prove. It was a fight that the division needed DESPERATELY and possibly is reborn because of it. It all depends on Wlad.
