Do you think there will be a rematch?

I don't think Vlad wants it. Plus Vlad would get beaten even more convincingly in a rematch because..

1. AJ now has the psychological advantage as he stopped Vlad already

2. Vlad has lost twice in a row and coming of a KO

3. AJ was clearly nervous by the magnitude of the event, fighting infront of 90k for his ever first step up in opposition and first time going into the late championship rounds.. He's been there done that now so this isn't new and he will handle it much better.

 

This loss is going to be soul destroying for Wladimir. He was obsessed and lost again. I think he knows that realistically Joshua is only going to get better due to his age and that Wladimir will be declining because of his age. It's just too dangerous. No point risking his life.

 

Joshua was owned by the left jab-jackhammer right.
But Wlad was a sucker for the right uppercuts that blew him out in the 11th
The stamina thing was over-estimated in the later rounds. Maybe a rematch is a good thing
It has to be sooner than later. I wonder what Vitali's thinking? Get rid of Banks?

 

There seems to be a feeling at least on this forum that a rematch wouldn't be a good thing, personally I don't know.. it was such a good fight that will long last in the memory. On the one hand could a rematch deliver another amazing fight or on the other would it fail to live up to the fight we just witnessed?

I guess historically rematches rarely exceed or live up to the first clash so perhaps it would be disappointing.

 

If he does go for a rematch, I can full understand his reasoning; he was in a very close fight and was the first to drop this 28 year old undefeated star

Maybe he sees the replay and studies the kd and makes more of an all out effort to close the show when he's got Joshua hurt

But I think he may also realize he gave this fight his all, and Joshua weathered the storm and got a second wind (impressive recovery and comeback)..... and that Joshua is better than he originally thought and that beating him might be undoable at his age

 

No. If he fights again, let it be against a much lower level fighter as a true "goodbye fight."

 

Like, if it happens, literally let it be Dereck Chisora.

 

I would certainly watch it. Would purchase a ppv, even. Also, would love to see more boxing from the other side of the pond; afternoon boxing rocks. Like when I was a kid watching ABC Wide World Of Sports.
