Do you think they will ever introduce new weight classes into MMA?

I believe the gap between Lightweight and Welterweight is too much. I also believe they should bring in a Cruiserweight division!

    What are your thoughts?

Here are my proposed weight classes.

    Strawweight: 118lbs
    Flyweight: 125lbs
    Super-Flyweight: 130lbs
    Bantamweight: 135lbs
    Featherweight: 145lbs
    Lightweight: 155lbs
    Light-Welterweight: 160lbs
    Welterweight: 170lbs
    Middleweight: 180lbs
    Light-Heavyweight:190lbs
    Cruiserweight: 210lbs
    Heavyweight: 210lbs plus

    This.:good

Leave it alone. The weight classes in mma is great as is. Don't go down the boxing route and make the sport a joke.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe anyone has won two belts in two different weight classes,I think Frankie Edgar would of been the first if he'd of beaten Jose Aldo?
I reckon Boxing would be better without all the different weight classes and yet you still get divas like Canelo wanting their own catch weights,it's a disgrace quite frankly.

Randy Couture in the UFC - Light heavy and Heavy champ
Dan Handerson in Pride - Welterweight and middleweight champ

    There might be more

Had he won he would have been the 3rd fighter to win UFC titles in multiple weight classes after Randy Couture and BJ Penn. There have been some others who have accomplished the feat in different orgs.
