Do you think they'll ever have another TUF like Season 4: The Comeback?

What I mean is, will they ever have a season again where the competitors are veterans, rather than up and comers?

I think that ever since season 5 which had Gray Maynard, Nate Diaz, Manny Gamburyan etc, the standard has plummeted in terms of the quality of the fighters.

No-one since season 5 cast has ever competed for a UFC title, and winners like Efrain Escudero and Ross Pearson have been very disappointing.

The show is in danger of becoming irrelevant now. Long gone are the days when guys like Rashad Evans, Josh Koscheck, Forrest Griffin, Diego Sanchez, Joe Stevenson, Michael Bisping and Matt Serra came out of the show and went right into the title mix.

I think they need another veterans series.

My idea would be TUF15, with coaches BJ Penn and Anthony Pettis, and then 16 guys who have had decent UFC careers, but are maybe in a bit of a slump or whatever at the moment (and there are many guys in many weight classes who fit this description).

It'd also be a good way of cutting some dead wood, maybe even shuttling the losers out to Strikeforce to beef up their divisions.

    Thoughts? :bbb

    You're conflating two things.

The likes of Koscheck, Evans, etc came through TUF because the standard of competition in those first few seasons was much, much higher. Nothing to do with having another veterans season and more to do with the fact that up and coming fighters have more options now. Hopefully the upcoming TUF14 will like TUF5 reverse that trend.

As for a veteran season...I liked TUF4 but it got bad rep due to poor ratings. I kinda like the idea of doing an eight-man veterans season when what's at stake is a UFC contract - don't particularly agree with putting a title shot on the line. I think it could work if done right but it'd be a shot in the dark. The obvious division would be light heavyweight - just Coleman and Ortiz in the same house would make it worth watching.

That would be pretty stupid as with the bantamweights and featherweights the next season should be awesome

thats the only thing it has in its favour, still though lower weights will not mean a higher quality of mma, it might mean slightly better quality of fights but we will still see the inexperience, the bad preparation and overall lower level of fighter compared to those that got entered into TUF a few years back

This is exactly the kind of **** I rreally don,t care about. I would be alot more interested in the prep, meal, weight cut and technique surroudning there training, more like a documentary, then watching immature ****** trolling each other because they are full of booze and bored to death !

it gets real boring watching 14 episodes of the same thing every season and if you want to watch men working out and training technique you can go down to your local gym

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's already the same ****in thing each season. You get a bunch a guy packed with testosterone, with a house full of alcool, beating each other and insulting each other for pretty much X number of week.

Between what I said and TUF my idea is alot less marketable. It's alot ****in easier to promote a T.V. show with people acting like they are braindead most of the time !

Not everyone enjoy physical activities. TBH I hate it, I'm more of a cerebral kind of guy.

You are kinda right what they are doing now is if they dont like a guy they dont tell it right to their face ala kos and leben no they sit in their van bitching like women then try to mean eye the person in the house like a *****.

The training is also the same except from when Tito was in the house with team punishment where they went and did some fun exercises and not hit the bag for 10 min then go ride a bike for 10 min then back to the sand bag.
