Do you think this fight exposed Foreman slightly?

The 10 extra lbs didnt help any. I can't say it would have changed the outcome. If Frazier was at his peak form I think it' s a better fight but Foreman still wins.

He has admitted in interviews he intentionally ducked quarry. He dropped his belt instead of facing tucker and also admitted he didnt think he could win.

I dont get whats so funny when the man himself said it and his actions prove it.

This is it. Frazier for all his greatness was made to be ko'd by Foreman.

Yes. Well he was stripped for facing Axel Schulz instead of Tony Tucker.

That's a far cry from being afraid though.
You might as well say Lennox Lewis was afraid of Chris Byrd or John Ruiz.

Even though he would've won, probably would've been interesting to see George in with Roy Williams and Jeff Merritt.

Do i think foreman was literally shivering in fear at the thought of fighting quarry or tucker? Hell no, hed literally murder them in a street fight. But he knew they were a HUGE risk/low reward. They were both very bad style matchups.

Lets look at one of the definitions of afraid

feeling reluctance, unwillingness, distaste, or the like: "He seemed afraid to show his own children a little kindness"

In the example above, it absolutely applies that foreman was afraid at the prospect of fighting quarry and tucker. He was both RELUCTANT and UNWILLING to fight either quarry or tucker and the record shows this. He literally disposed of his belt to avoid fighting tucker. And he literally said in his own words that he didnt want to fight either one of them. There is nothing else to talk about.

You are getting emotional because of the image u have of foreman as a tough guy. Hes actually one of my top 5 favorite hws of all time and i believe he is one of the most dangerous fighters h2h in history and alwayd had a chance and has an underrated resume.

Not wanting to fight a slick moving counter puncher when youve already tried it twice and failed horribly (muhammad ali, jimmy young) doesnt mean youre no longer "tough" or a respectable fighter, foreman was simply being humble and admitting his limitations. Even tommy morrison, a 1 dimensional slugger, was able to change his style and outbox foreman. Moore was outboxing him and won every rounf until he got caught. Literally every decent fighter who got on his bike was able to frustrate foreman and have success outboxing or countering him. Im not calling foreman a "coward" at all, im just saying je had obvious limitations (especially his 2nd career) and was willing to admit those limits. That honestly makes me respect him more than frauds who make a million excuses or manipulate the press/fans to make it seem like its someone elses fault a fight didnt happen.

And for the record you could mention literally any ATG and i could mention a noteworthy contender that they missed, intentional or otherwise. This thread is about foreman and thats the only reason im focusing on him.

Great point, but my answer is can Wilder or Joshua actually fight? Would they have the no how even this over matched opponent have? Again Wilder and Joshua are physical specimens. There height, weight, and physicality would be a challenge to any fighter in history. BUT. Can they actually fight? Especially on the level of heavys of the past. I don't remember the fighters name but an obvious heavyweight novice got quit with Sugar Ray Leonard yrs ago sparring on an exhibition on a cruise ship. Leonard was coming off eye surgery so his weight was probably somewhere around 150lbs if that. The heavyweight pissed Leonard off by jabbing at Leonard's repaired eye. Leonard dropped him with a viscous body shot. The difference was Leonard could actually fight, and the much bigger fighter actually couldn't, at least on Leonard's level. And that's my point on Wilder and Joshua. Both have had some real shakey moments against the below average competition they have faced. Both of them have almost no real amateur experience, so they have been basically learning on the job as pro's. That's been ok against this wasteland of heavyweight boxing talent in today game, and really boxing in general is like that at all weights. But that doesn't make them ready to face a prime G.Foreman or any great fighter from the past. Not when your slapping with your punches after five rds, and totally winded after about 5 rds .

He did, but compared to international tournament boxers of lower weights it was how many fights altogether?
