Say if I was a boxer and I had all my glory my world titles my big sagas my big multi million pound fights 3 weight world champion and one of the greatest of my generation don't I deserve to fight cans for paper titles like the wbf wbu so I can tour the world and live past glorys without everyone hating saying I'm ruining my career
deserving is subjective. if you were to ask me i would say people have a right to critisize. my advice to such a person is to refer to those people as haters. but really if you had all that money why would you care what peopple think???? if you did care for personal reasons then you would not fight cans
Hard to feel sorry for people who have earned so much but just been incredibly careless with their cash. Yes, they were great but they were paid handsomely for their services. Their financial ineptitude is their problem. It's the top drawer guys who never earn that kind of money - usually the really light guys - that I feel sorry for.
If they have done so much for the sport and in need of money because of their own financial mismanagement, I will not feel sorry for them nor criticise them to go on their senior tour. As long as the commission clear their licences to fight is ok with me. Anyway the power or choice is with us whether we actually watch or not. I do sometimes question the commission in their decision to allow a fight though.
Marciano stopped completely when he was no longer enjoying his previous training regime, punches began interfering with his attack and he developed chronic back problems. He said he did not want to embarrass his family and friends and fellow Italians by becoming a travesty of what he had previously been. One factor he mentioned was having personally witnessed what happened to Joe Louis in his attempt to fight during his declining years.
Wilder only fights winos from the alley in his hometown with his personal referee, judges and boxing commission, plus he has his own commentators who will tell you who is winning the fight, they think fight fans don't know the difference anyway....................five voluntary title defenses in a row, Wilder is a damned fraud..........
If RJJ has retired after he won the WBA heavyweight title, finished with a record of 48-1 (only loss a DQ) and a four weight world champion how do you think he would be regarded/rated now?
