Do you think Top Rank has done a horrible job promoting Cotto-Margo?

he said himself when he first announced that the cotto vs Margarito fight when he said I quote " your going to see to fighters fight with out the help of 24/7 we don't need garbage like this to sell fights , this type of fight sell it self. you may be able to see his interview on a boxing site I can not name ..

I don't make a habit of making **** up , I don't need to nor do I feel I need to be right a 100% of the time .. but this interview I saw with my own eyes.

This was a fight that needed to be held at the Garden, in order to establish a big-fight atmosphere and to capitalize on Cotto's massive following in NYC. The PPV numbers will likely be solid, and will make money, but this could, and should, have been a lot bigger than it was.

It seems fans of Cotto and Margarito are already making excuses for when this fight does poorly at the gate and on PPV. Similar to how Pac fans are saying it was high gas prices and the weak economy that caused only 200k ppv buys and 4000 unsold seats at the gate for the Pac-Diaz match. Same folks say that PBF isn't a draw.

 

yeah they have i havent seen a spot for it on normal day time tv so they are messing up. not saying every channel but at least a few day time spots to get the public interested in the soon to be fight of the year.

 

I've said this from jump besides hardcore boxing fans like us here most casual sport fans don't know who the **** Cotto or Margo are. These guys are regional draws at best.:deal
