    Not necessarily because of the Hopkin's loss, but I think he was a lesser fighter post-retirement, even against Mayorga. Winky almost always would have beaten him anyway, so it's not like it really matters.

    What the **** does Mayorga's success above 147 have to do with the fact that he COULD NOT PHYSICALLY MAKE 147 ANYMORE?

To answer yours just because you think Mayo couldn't make 147 again that doesn't consider him a good fighter or a big threat at MW dumbass.:deal

    Trinidad tried hard against Cherifi and Mayorga that he was there to stay at 160 plus but his body couldn't lose the weight, it's not like he had the strength and the conditioning to campaign at 160. Guys that have huge punching power at 147, 156 barely make it at 160 because there are natural 175 pounders, 168 pounders like Hopkins that can go down to 160. Hopkins engaged with Tito and realized that he was not to get hurt until he caught him with a hook when Tito was to go at him with a left which was blocked. Of course, Winky absolutely sent Tito into retirement afterwards but he has done the same to Shane.

    Physically speaking the Hopkins loss didn't do anything to Trinidad. I thought he looked great and on his way back after Cherifi, but Trinidad decided to retire and that was it. He put on one hell of a perfomance against Mayorga, showing off great conditioning, but he was slightly slower by then and gained a false sense of confidence as if nothing had changed and he was back.

    The question is not whether he was effective above 147 or not, you are saying he had no business even being there, which is obvious bollocks considering he was physically unable to fight anywhere else.

    (though for what it's worth, Mayorga weighed 158 vs a 157lbs Tito, and the way Tito brutalized him suggests to me that he was still a quality fighter considering the way a 154lbs borderline-shot Mayorga was able to work Mosley and Cotto years and years later)
