Do you think Tszyu ruined Judah or was he just destined to be what he is?

Judah's not ruined. He just needs self discipline and a real trainer. Imagine what judah would be if he trained like Floyd?

Very true, he would be great if he had Floyd's dedication.

The fight was only a round a half long. I never get the whole thing about him schooling Kostya before the KO, he might have won the first round but its not like he was kicking Kostya's ass or anything.

    Yes.

I had it one round each up until the KO.

I can't believe that the loss to Kostya had zero effect on Judah. But I would agree that he had a predisposition towards failing to achieve his true potential. The cracks in Zab were there before Kostya fought him. Zoo just opened those cracks up a bit wider.

What? Judah had Kosta rocked in the first round. Rocked bad. The difference is that Kosta was seasoned and mentally ready for anything. He clinched and made it through. The second round... well is history.

The KO was probably the BEST thing to happen to Judah. He would have started finding Judah more and more. It would have been a long night. I think a fight like the one Judah had with Cotto is more damaging than the Kosta fight.

Judah never been the same. Judah offense was blustering, after he was KTFO he looks tentative to let his hands go. Tszyu ruined him

Even as a guy who has never, ever liked Zab Judah and really dislikes him to be honest, I will be objective. Zab was born into a fighting family and with explosive power, tremendous speed and athleticism and a lot of confidence to use it all. He's not mentally strong though and he never was. His ability to deal with adversity when compared to a guy like Cotto or Mosley is virtually non-existent. He's not even great at dealing with having virtually every advantage, i.e. against Baldomir and Ward. I don't like FMJ either but the difference between elite mind and body and just elite body was demonstrated well in their fight together. Mayweather's coolheadedness and ring IQ took over after it being physically very competitive. Judah frustrates easily, loses his temper easily, breaks down under pressure, can't take the heat when he's not in control and when he is in control can't maintain in because he's so comfortable and unmotivated. Judah had the tools physically, not mentally when the chips were down. Now that I've been objective, let me just add the part that's not objective: And he's a little punkass pissant that thinks of himself too highly and doesn't deserve to even have another big name opponent at this point.

  8. Yo. Cheers for the post about Tszu's dad being a limiting influence. That was a different perspective & new to me. :good

I really disagree with your perception of the the fight (above) though. The uppercut in the first round didnt rock Tszyu at all. It surprised him and he scurried backwards to get into position. Doing this made it look much worse than it was. This is Tszyu's version of the events and he's not one to talk ****. Right on the bell in the first Kostya even managed to land a good body blow. The second round: Wasn't all that much in it but Tszyu had his jab working and was winning before the K.O.

:goodGood analysis. I've always thought similarly after seeing his reaction to the Tszyu KO. "Punkass" is right. He went after the ref & complained more than he fought. He tried to punch Baldomir low before the fight when the ref brought the 2 together. When he got frustrated with Floyd, he hit him low. When both camps entered the ring, he sucker punched Ellerbe in the back of his head. The guy has all the physical talents, but none of the mental & emotional discipline that the true ATGs have. I'd respect him a lot more, but we've all seen what his true character is.

  10. A lot of people say this but I don't really understand the logic. Even if you believe Bernard won both the fights, they were extremely close. That the decision was close enough for controversy surely indicates that Taylor was a decent fighter? Fighting Winky to a draw was no irrelevant feat, either.

Natural lack of discipline has inhibited his ability to be elite. Simple as that.

Don't know if he ruined him or not. But a cocky ******* like Judah that's never lost, and talked **** to Kostya, had to have a few doubts put in his head, after losing like that, being KD twice from 1 punch, and as somebody else said, having comedians make jokes at his expense.

That's got to take away a bit of the self confidence right there.

Having said that, he's not the sharpest tool in the shed is he?
