No. Forman had two careers and was a champion in both of them. Tyson just plain melted down and could not come back. I

Tyson was a terribly one dimensional fighter. Foreman at least had some semblance of versatility and could make adjustments, plus he had heart and determination to supplement his talents.

Not long before Foreman fought Holyfield. Around the time of the Ruddock fights.

    When did Tyson fight Ruddock?

HOly fought Foreman in April 91.
Tyson fought Ruddock in March and June 91.

So how about sometime in 91?

Tyson way better IMO. No denying the huge power of a young Foreman...but his chin wasn't anything like as good as his power...were Tyson had a granite chin and was only stopped after taking many rounds of punishment. Tysons speed and punch arsenal was far greater IMO and whoever had combos like a 20yr old Tyson? ....sometimes when I see a young Foreman I see a monster but a very crude one - Ali joked about Foreman telegraphing his shots and he was right!! He didn't look like a boxer with finess. A young Tyson had his power, speed, tenacity - but came in bobbing and weaving and seemed to my eyes have more boxing skill...of course that went when he was past his prime but back in his day 1985-1988...or whenever he went to prison he was unstoppable apart from his 1 blip when he took Douglas lightly and didn't train properly.

Tyson would not be able to hang with any of the top ten in Foreman's day. Tyson fans get the "WHAT IFS" when it comes to their hero. What if Cuss hadn't died? What if, he hadn't married that witch? What if he hadn't been a ****** and went to prison? What it, what if and what if? How about looking at what was and is. He was slightly above average and now he isn't.

Tyson doesn't have the heart to beat Foreman. Why the **** do you think he bit Holyfield's ear?

What if Big George won the title when he was 20, unified the division, and defended 7 more times than he actually did? Surely he'd also be nothing more than simply a run of the mill, above average fighter.

Better to have an inflated record in the "godly" 70's, I suppose, where each win gets you 5 times the credit.

Both offensive machine, great chin, 2nd to none killer instainct

    But not the greatest stamina.

    Tyson had far better defense.

And how is Foreman not one-dimensional? When Ali lay on the ropes, he was clueless. Tyson would've destroyed Ali if he did that (though i'd pick Ali over Tyson). Young won all except for one round against Foreman because he couldn't adapt. It took him more than 10 years to develop a better style.

As for his heart and determination, he could've beaten the count against Ali and didn't protest one bit when the ref waved it off as he got up at 9.
