He had the proven talent, but his window has narrowed. Anyone who thinks he is "too small" seems to have missed that pieces of the title have recently been held by Joseph Parker, who is similar size, and Andy Ruiz, who could conceivably be a LHW if he got in shape. They have further missed that Usyk has a pro-style win over Mezhidov, who is a brutal puncher, and Huck, Brieidis, and Hunter, who have all had good moments at heavy. But with Fury taking over the WBC, there just aren't a lot of low hanging fruit belts out there. Maybe he should wait until next year, after Fury collects them all, and inevitably abandons one or two due to fighting with the sanctioning organizations.
