Parker should be next for Usyk we all know that but for whatever reasons it’s not next for him. Not sure it is for financial reasons as he is making big money anyway. If Usyk is wanting Fury or even Joshua for that matter then both have to earn there shot at him, they should not be just gifted another fight with the Undisputed Champion imo .
I think we all know who Usyk should fight next. Maybe he just wants a little break from the sport and go back in the ring in early 2026 in which could be his last fight.
I used to think there is no way that Usyk is avoiding Parker, but the longer time goes on the more I think the theory has more credence. For example, he never said he would fight the winner of Dubois vs Parker, he wasn't too keen to get his belt back until it was clear that Dubois wasn't going to fight Parker then suddenly its all "I want my belt back, I want Dubois" And this is getting a bit conspiracy theory, but maybe Usyk and team and Warren etc, had some quiet conversations and a handshake deal about Dubois getting the Usyk fight so not to risk it against Parker which caused the weird circumstances around Dubois' last minute pull out. Also even now Usyk has not said that he will fight Parker next, or even the winner of Parker vs Wardley, he has remained tight lipped and cryptic, saying he will defend the WBO but not specifying Parker at all. I'm starting to suspect that if Wardley won he would be getting the Usyk fight pretty quick compared to if Parker won.
Yes if only because he went through the trouble of begging them not to strip him. Of the 3 interim champs I think Kabayels the toughest fight for Usyk and Parker v Wardley matches the other 2. I don't see him faking out the WBO and fighting someone else.
While Usyk or anyone would much rather fight Wardley the truth is that Wardley is very unlikely to beat Parker and Usyk is probably expecting Parker to win. Given the situation I can't see the WBO letting him defend against someone else. The WBOs had an interim lineage for 3 years and 5 fights. Which I think is the longest in HW history. They are resolving this now one way or another.
