Altogether, counting the first run of WBO? Yeah, but, you know, it won't be much, historically, because of the title. From only beginning with the IBF reign? No, I don't think so. He's already begun with , for a few years now, injury trouble and other little problems and he's already had so many fights...fighting 3 times a year, at maximum, and more like 2...very unlikely, imo. Regardless of there not being anyone looking to take the division by storm.
Absolutely, unless he decides hes gonna fight Vitali or unless Chisora keeps improving and gets there in time ( I'd still pick Wlad in either fight).
He's at 10 and he looks like he'll fight 3 times this year (Mormeck and Thompson before July so that leaves a lot of time to get another fight done), so I'll say without a doubt.
We are talking about a guy who is almost 36, now, who only fought once in 2011, and only fought once in 2009. 2003 and 2008 were the last two years he fought three times. Ten more fights is going to likely cover a long damn time, lads. On the wrong side of thirty, at that. Forget the competition level. The damn training camps alone take their toll too.
Right now he has 10 consecutive defenses. If he can fight for another 5 years or so then yeah, he could do it.
Doesnt he have 17 total? Ali has 21 homles 22 louis has 25 fighting bums. If wlad keeps its going for 5 years i think he will pass it. He has to know what the record
Yeah, but this year it seems he will fight at least 3 times, that would make it to 13, if he keeps fighting till 40 (quite possible, look at Vitali) at 2-3 fights per year he'll do it.
That's such a very big if, imo. If he keeps fighting till forty, if nobody manages to put him in trouble and stop him, if his body doesn't break down to the point it stops him-which would be quite something for a 6'6 240-pound man who's been boxing since he was a kid and had almost sixty pro fights. And we should consider Vitali has had far fewer fights and a four year vacation period that Volo has not had. His longevity is considerable, but there's that context to it to consider.
Agreed, 10 defences is pushing it for a 35 year old, not to mention Chisora looming in on the unification
Vitali has had worse injuries than Wlad and he's still fighting and dominating his opponents. Last year against Haye he looked as fast as ever. And I see nobody on the horizon that can trouble him either, so I think it's quite probable.
