Do you think Wlad will throw his IBF belt in the bin rather than face Thompson again?

its not so much that he "loves his belts" its more about the fact that wlad wants to fully unify after Vitali retires and with Wlad so close, no way he gives back the belt until after he unifies, if at all

 

That's the way I see it. Obviously you would know better than the rest of us outsiders, but it appears as if Vitali will be looking at Chisora, for the purpose of pulling Haye into the ring, and then Valuev and then retirement. This is of course, ONLY MY OPINION.

Seems Wlad called on Chisora and soon after Haye jumped in an finally manned up and accepted Wlad's gracious offer.

Now, Vitali vs DB looks to be on, and IMO, it may just be a ploy to get Haye into the ring again.
After Vitali gets Haye and Valuev he retire with a great legacy, then Wlad can beat Arreola or Mitchell or whichever paper champ Suleiman inserts to be Wlads spolier.

IMO, Wlad will be undisputed HWCotW in early or mid 2013. Defend maybe 3-5 times in 13/14 and then retire after he's beaten Holmes record of defenses.:deal

 

It would make the Heavyweight division already more deluded than it is if he does

The only problem with this heavyweight division is that the dominant champions are european

Chagaev fight went with torn left bicep, surgery.
Chisora abb/back, surgery.
Mormeck kidney stone.

One or two more and he's suddenly very stitched man.

 

Vitali has had far more problems requiring surgery/delays and he's came out the other end fine and now 40+ and rolling along.

No reason Wlad can't go on also despite a few injuries given the condition he keeps himself in. The kidney stone can happen to anyone, it's not a sports injury and won't have future impact on him.

No way does Wlad throw away a belt. Just what we/he needs, a bunch of idiots claiming Wlad ducks Thompson by pulling a Riddick move. He'll make the fight and knock him out quicker the 2nd time.

 

CHEF out of curiosity i know the brothers are close and all but do you think Wlad would prefer Vitali to retire right now so he could unify or is he ok with Vitali to fight on as long as hes motivated/healthy ?

Volo does not vacate...certainly not for anyone around now.

 

No way does he drop it. Either he gets Thompson to step aside or he KOs him viciously again.

 

No, so far he has faced all his mandatories and I don't see that changing any time soon.

 

Why is it even an issue, Wlad can fight whoever and still sell out a major venue and makes about the same money with the same results. It's not like he'd be missing out on a super fight with someone.

 

Wlad is very supportive of Vitali. We all are and want him to continue as long as Vitali feels he can compete at the level he is now.

We all talk to him about knowing when to walk away and how its much better to walk away on top and on your own terms then to push it and lose the belt.

 

Valuev is a deputy of parliment now, though. I hope the fight is still feasible but I read recently where Valuev said he ain't coming back.

 

Kinda figured that was the case seeing as how supporting they always are of eachother, although i do hope that in due time Wlad will get the chance to unify all the belts i think he deserves it.

Back in the day i was a big Vitali fan (still am) and when he retired i was very bummed as i felt we were missing out on his prime.

When he anounced his comeback i was very worried after a 4 year layoff but he actually seems more relaxed and confident now then ever... guess because hes healthy.

And as insane as it seems for a 40 year old to me it looks like hes still steadily improving, even if he might have lost a tad of power along the way (He did seem very strong again vs Adamek but im not sure if that was due to him or Adamek)
