Do you think Zab Judah would have beaten Danny Garcia prime-for-prime?

He couldn't even put away the twitching corpse of Morales first time round.

He definitely could have, he has the tangibles to win, but danny has some good whiskers and great timing and a young zab would have been more aggressive which may have worked against him.

I have only seen Zab really stay focused against a really high level opponent for the duration of a fight once.........the rematch against Cory Spinks. Zab just couldn't focus against high level guys for an entire fight. He could do it in spurts, and usually spurts were enough to get him wins. He showed it in glimpses against everyone: Cotto, hell even against Floyd. Eventually he always wanders away. Even if he were younger, he would've started mentally wandering against Danny. I still say Danny UD or SD over Judah. I say this as a fan of Zab.

Prime Judah was far better than Prime Garcia. Garcia is tougher and mentally stronger but there are levels in boxing.

    Good chance he could have.

Swift in truth oughtn't have those victories over Judah (old) and Morales (old/blown-up), they flatter to deceive.

He did however not only survive a prime LMM but, within the rules, bested him. So there is that...and I guess Khan. He was always good...just never great IMO - and it rankles that he is 3-0 versus Judah and Morales. He shouldn't have those, by rights.

Danny Garcia is a flat footed dosser with 6 toes.

He punches with his opponent and uses his better chin and looping power punches to come out on top.

Errol Spence will take him apart.

Seems pretty reasonable he would seeing he gave him that much trouble getting well on with his reflexes and chin left in the MySpace era.

But its a fair point as other posters have mentioned that the younger Zab was particularly brash and aggressive. His more swashbuckling approach may well suit the crispy in between punching counters of DG.

Garcia got like a good chin but for real Judah real fast then. Speed kills. But chin hard to go off and get kilt. This tuff 1 4 reelz sun.

Maybe it would have been the same but in opposite order

Judah comes out strong wins 1,2,3 and then loses 4 to 12

I was a judah fan but going 12 consistent rounds wasn't his strong suit. Garcia takes a good enough punch to weather an early storm

No he would have found a way to lose even in his prime.

Possibly. He looked very good in the last three rounds. But, he might have been more boneheaded when younger, so who knows.

I'll take the Zab from the Cotto and Mayweather fights to beat Garcia.

You know DSG is one of those fighters that it’s easy to underrate. He may not be the most athletic of fighters but he is so fundamentally sound , strong mindset, tough and he knows how to win. He is some one I watched on his way up that even I was guilty of making the same mistake that I had to look closer at him. I personally thought he won both the Porter and Thurman fights but the judges went the other way in close fights.
