yeah the whole reason businesses dont want you to keep you inside when your ill is becuase it infeccts the whole workforce. you may be alright with being ill or just dont have much of a flu, but to somone else it could be a murderer. train at home if you really want to.
Once you realize/decide that your training has a meaning towards a goal, you'll stop getting a "guilty concience" from resting as you realize that it's just necessary for further progress. You're not doing this so you can have an excuse to relax, you're doing it to become a better boxer, right? You won't become a better boxer from training with a flu, you'll become a sicker dumbass. :tired Listen to your body, or you won't progress much at all. Many people fall into that trap, thinking much more about quantity instead of quality. Always have a reason for doing whatever you do, never train without being totally in synch with what you are doing and what you are gonna improve. If you are sick, rest until you are well. By all means, watching boxing tapes and spend some time visualising. Focus your time on getting well again faster instead. Drink lots of water, eat well and sleep well.
thx Ignar:good I think you are right I shouldn't probably be on that road after I felt my flu getting worse. It's just what you said, that "guilty consience".
Yeah, just remember that it isn't about who trains the most or who puts in the most amount of hours. It's all about progress, it's about who does what he needs to do to become better and better. You do what you need to do to become better. When that means you need to rest, you rest. Whatever gets the job done.
Most things has been said here, but if you are sick you shouldn´t train at all. Rest and get well. I also agree, I would never train anyone with a flu. As a matter of fact I don´t want them in the gym if they are sick. I dont want my other fighters to get sick as well. All the best The Predator

Definitely rest up, your body is busy trying to fight the infection or virus and should be allowed to do this without further straining your recovery system. If you have the flu bad and end up with a chest infection you could stress organs such as your heart etc. Further problems could put you out of training much longer.
I had a chest infection last week, i thought **** it ill go training anyway, so did some sparring and it was crap i couldnt breath properly or move i was exhausted after 1 minute of sparring it was hell..I felt like i had smokers lungs, and basically i didnt get anything out of it at all....Ingar summed it up pretty well....its not quantity of training but quality, resting is part of training, train smart but also rest smart....
I would never recommend training with flu or a bad cold. When your immune system is weakened by illness, you need to do whatever it takes to help it recover as quickly as possible. Training hard would weaken it even further, putting you even further back, health-wise. Training just to say you've done it, on the other hand, would not help you progress either, in preparation for a fight, but just get you tired. Do whatever it will help you to recover fully and start training hard only once you've recovered fully, would be my advice.
