Do you view a Lewis vs Klitschko rematch was really necessary?

I don't see how the outcome would have been any different. Lewis still would have smashed VK's face in. VK still would have been the inferior fighter and a loser.:yep

Plus he would have looked like this.

If that cut wasn't there, Vitali would have knocked Lewis the **** out. Just saying.

    No
Lewis is the better boxer and will always be valued higher as an ATG

    Yes.

Without the rematch, in the eyes of milions, Lennox got lucky.

With the rematch, it could be either confirmed or denied. And both men would have made a ton of money. Not to mention us, the boxing public, that so badly needs a fight between real heavyweights and real men, not a panic stricken 6'8 poser and a self proclaimed savior of the heavyweight division that fights only aged shadows of fighters.

But it was there and there was more than one cut.

You can't just remove that factor from the fight. :patsch

It was a very entertaining fight. The fact that people still talk about the fight today speaks volumes. It was a great HW fight and probably one of the best of the last 20 years.

I don't understand why some people wouldn't want to see a rematch, regardless of the outcome.

It would have been nice immediately after.

But in hindsight, who really cares? Since then, we can look back at it as follows:

-Rematches usually never live up to the first fight, so it probably would have been more tactical.
-It showed that a past-prime Lewis could still take it to an in-prime Klitschko.
-Since then, Klitschko has showed that he is the real deal in his own right.

Both Vitali and Lewis are both great fighters, so that's all that really needs to be said about it.

i think lewis would beat him again in a rematch but it would of been a great fight, comparing to those shitty titlefights we seen after lewis retired..

klitschkos are good and considered best right now no doubt about that but they just aren't in the same class with lewis & co..

People are forgetting this was Lennox at his absolute worst while he was at the top !!!!!

And it was still enough to bang up a younger Vitali !!!

Fact is , if Vitali hadnt of got cut , he may of squeezed out a decision , he wasnt going to stop Lennox , as even that version of Lennox was too crafty and skilled for Vitali , and IMO even though he was gassed it would of been Lennox who was more likely to scrape a decision in that fight

    :rofl

If Lewis didn't land a massive right hand, Vitali woudn't have been cut.

If Lewis didn't throw the punch, it wouldn't land, and Vitali wouldn't get cut.

If Lewis didn't turn up, he wouldn't throw the punch, therefore he wouldn't land the punch, and Vitali wouldn't get cut.

    ****ing clueless moron.

Lennox was way more popular in the States than he was in Britain at the time of him being a champion , now he's seen as boxing royalty in the UK but only now !!!!
