Do you view Cotto as a still unbeaten champion?

    Hello there, new here.

I just wanted to see what everyone's opinion was on the subject. Please note that this is not meant to be another discussion about whether Margarito cheated or not. With that said, I've had a few of conversations with boxing fans from places where I live and on the internet, and it came to my attention that the vast majority seems to think Miguel Cotto is undefeated until proven otherwise. At the very least, it seems a very controversial win for Margarito.

Some say he is not the same after his fight with Antonio Margarito, others say he is still the same and that a fight with Clottey isn't enough to gather a solid conclusion on his current (mental) state. Personally, I think the fight with Pacquiao will tell us how Miguel Cotto is currently. Maybe he will shock people (for better or worse).

So what do you think? Was Cotto bound to win that fight on even grounds, or did he lose the fight as it was meant to?

I still see Cotto is undefeated, but other people don't. I personally don't think it matters unless they have a rematch.

No. Cotto got beaten, regardless of the wraps, he got beaten in a fight where he could have won if he adapted to what the fight was, he didn't have the passion to fight through the late rounds.

    No . . . I'm a Cotto fan but a realist . . . he already lost . . . so I'll stick to reality . . . it makes my life simple and eassier. :D

Margarito lost to Mosley and Mosley lost to Cotto . . . so be it . . . claiming otherwise is nut huggery or hating.

We will never know if Margarito's punches were considerably more powerful due to plaster It's fair to say they probably were, without plaster he probably wouldn't of knocked out Cotto, then again Margarito does throw over 1000 punches a fight and Cotto is known for stamina problems so he could of still lost I think Cotto would of won by 1-2 rounds though. Unfortunately and likely due to Marg cheating he did lose.

Cotto is a real warrior, a classic fighter and will be remembered as a great one. But you cant take back what already happened, he lost plain and simple. I don't know about how Cotto would feel about this topic but he just wants to move on, I would suggest everyone else do the same if they wanna support him to the fullest

a true champion would have changed his fighting style once he saw the original plan wasnt working.....true champions have more than one idea of how to win...if power doesnt work then move to boxing or just get on the bike and potshot.
if cotto cant hurt you with his power hes nothing.

No he was clearly beaten. When he got in trouble late in the fight he tried to use his feet instead of holding only tiring himself even more. Marg got his number and they put on a classic, where the man with the bigger will won.

No. The NSAC isn't nearly as incompetent as the CSAC. There's a totally different procedure for the fighters wrapping their hands, and there's no evidence that Margo cheated in the fight.

There's no shame in losing a great battle. Cotto fought a hard fight that night but it just wasn't his night, it was Marg's.

Because it wasn't the NSAC that caught the gloves being dodgy, it was Mosley's trainer - Richardson.
