Chavez, Jr. thru his dad has been calling out dela Hoya even before the Pacquiao fight. Do you want this fight to push through at 154 for the following reasons:

    1. for the Junior to avenge the two defeats of his dad
    2. for Dela Hoya to fight a good opponent as a farewell fight.

Will you buy it in PPV?

Personally, I like this fight to happen in 2009.

Not anymore. In late 2007 or Cinco De Mayo of 2008 I might have accepted this as a farewell fight but the Golden Boy has overstayed his welcome.

I don't want to see EITHER of these fighters ever again.

Nope, not at all. If this fight was on an undercard, this would be 1 of those fights that you really dont even pay attention to.

Disagreed, wholeheartedly. Just as sure as Mandela was freed, of the chains of Apartheid, and the Prisons of Ignorance, Oscar will face the Son of the Lion. de la Hoya-Chavez Jr. will sell huge, especially in SOCal, and all of the Southwest. At least 900,000 buys.

Only HC DLH fans are interested in seeing fight anyone, imo.

Why not? Oscar gave us some pretty good fights in the past. Let him go out on a win. There would most definitely be alot of hoopla promoting this fight.

I'm dead serious. These fighters both ought to retire. Any desire they have to step in the ring again is a liability to fight fans. Just like with Toney at this point. All they'd be doing by lacing up the gloves again is forcing their shitty performances on the television audiences and sopping up valuable broadcast time that they'd be depriving of worthier fighters who have more to offer.

The fight would still sell, but personally I could care less about the fight. Don't give a crap whether it happens or not.

I agree. This is gonna one hell of a fight. Let's give dela Hoya the opportunity that his loss to Pac was due to his being weight drained. :good

This fight makes all the sense in the world. Think about it. First off, let a few months pass by and the thought of DLH getting his ass kicked won't be as fresh on people's minds. Then let the promoters and HBO people do a great job of promoting it. They can mention that DLH was weight drained, which he probably was. They can mention that DLH lost to the P4P best and an ATG. They can talk about the revenge factor for Chavez Jr. They can go in depth about the fights between DLH and Chavez Sr and maybe tell some stories of Chavez Jr being affected by these fights.

Plus, this fight makes sense money wise as it will be pretty big in the So Cal area. Not to mention, DLH is still the better fighter and i'm sure he wants to go out on a win.
