Floyd delivered a legal punch/KO as per boxing rules but the way he take advantage of the moment looks unsportsmanlike (quickly punching Ortiz after a break with Ortiz' hands completely down on his side).

Do you want to see boxing fights ended in similar way as Floyd-Ortiz fight?

To be honest, I didn't mind it, it was nice to see and I got excited about it, but it was bitter sweet. Maybe if it happened in the later rounds and if Floyd was whooping his ass more.
I really wanted to see more of Floyd's skill to see where he's at right now and I wanted him to properly knock him out

Obviously no one wants to see a fight end like that. I don't think anyone is debating that. I think people are arguing as to whether or not Maywather was justified in his actions.

If people are going to be keeping there hands down after the ref tells them to punch then yeah that's the way it should end IMO. I don't like it, it's unfortunate, but whining about it is ******ed. We all know the rules, he did nothing wrong get over it hahaha. A lot of people on here are crybabies.

Of course it was bitter sweet... Mayweather was on his way to winning the fight. I guess he really did want that easy PAYDAY. The way the fight ended isn't a RESUME ENHANCER for an self proclaimed ATG... ;)

If it's OK for boxing fights to end that way then I think boxing is going to the dogs.

It's completely legal in boxing to kill your opponent with your punches but just don't deliver those lethal punches on an opponent that is not ready.

Boxing is brutal but it's still a sport.

In retrospect, nothing he could have done to Ortiz would have been a HUGE legacy builder. I was under the impression that Ortiz got past being a quitter, but he proved again that he is just that, a quitter. All those guys harping that **** on here that Ortiz was a quitter were right all along. I was admittedly wrong about that. IF the fight lasted longer, and didn't end the way it did, it may have boosted his resume a bit, but not much. In all reality there are only 2 people that are feesable fights that would truly enhance his resume and that's Pac or Serge. All that aside, Money a G

    This poll is completely unnecessary.

Obviously noone wants this. There's a difference between 'I think it was within the rules, so it didn't bother me much' than 'that's how I want to see fights end'.

Floyd can't be castigated of his action since it's a legal punch by definition. I think the fault lies more on the referee for losing control of the fight at that moment.

But Floyd is partly to blame of the disgusting ending since he take advantage of the moment when he can act as a true sportsman by giving his unprepared opponent time to protect himself. Ortiz is a dirty ***** for the headbutt but it doesn't necessarily requires a unsportsmanlike retaliation from Floyd. A wrong can't be corrected by another wrong.

You know sportsmanship is tightly related to the morality of the person. Floyd is known to have bad morals.

rather see a cheap shot ending than people shaking gloves during rounds.

I blame Ortiz on this, he threw the headbutt that bring the break. He start to hug Mayweather when the ref was calling the time out. And when he was lead around the ring for the point deduction he touch glove with Mayweather again. And then, dont know why, tried to hug Mayweather.

That being said, it was anti-climactic in the extreme and I sure dont want to see this again.

I laughed my ass off. If it happened more often, it'd happen less often. If that makes any sense.
