So much bs from Paul Smith regarding this fight. Makes out he is too good to fight Fielding cos Smith now 'operates'(gets defeated) at world level. Never short of a moan or two Smith has some gripes about the board not agreeing to fights he had suggested so he can get the belt outright and some other gripes about Fielding not wanting the fight in the past, so Smith is like "Why should i fight him now?".

One of the biggest questions is will Paul Smith actually agree to the fight? Or will he be lined up by another SMW champion as an easy defence? :think

Yeah. Smigga, who's becoming surprisingly likeable in his career's twilight, could actually do UK boxing some good on his way out the door by ending the Fielding hype and bumping him off TV for a while.

Basically pull a Khomitsky vs. Buglioni for us. :good (though like a roach that hype job did resurface on television fairly quickly back to a steady diet of pablum..)

None of the poll options fit my opinion. The closest was the 1st, which is how I voted, but I don't think it would be a "good fight" in the sense of being competitive. I think Smith bashes him.

I don't want to see the fight, None of the answers fit though as Fielding would get smashed, needs a few more tune ups first. Smith has operated a world level and, in my opinion, won the first and lost a close decision to a great champion. Should have a go at some other contenders and see if he can earn himself a shot

    Not really.

I don't really rate either boxer but i would tip Paul Smith to win but not convincingly.

Fielding would beat Paul Smith. I don't understand why Rocky gets hardly any credit on here.

smith dosent want this fight if hes world level like he is he should have noo problem beating a 19 fight relative novice fielding, it would be a good pay day and a massive fight in Liverpool and if paul won hed get the british strap for keeps and thn look too go agen on the world stage. cant see this fight happening tho as smith dosent seem too be interested, much more chance of callum smith vs rocky in about 12 months if not the end of this year

Smith would waste Fielding. Rocky is dreadful.

Smith has no interest in the fight. His ego wouldn't allow it at all.

He blows colder than hotter when you average it out.

There may be truth in that, I'd well imagine that it could be difficult to 'get up' for an Oleg Fedotovs - but flip side of that coin, if he were really as talented as being on a level with a Paul Smith he really oughtn't be letting a Fedotovs go deep and score accurate punches throughout. (while barely even throwing any with gusto)

You'd think even an 80% effort would be enough to get rid of that caliber foe if he were to live up to his billing. The injury and layoff excuses only stretch out so far.

I personally think if they meet anytime soon Paul Smith wins with a good bit to spare. Always thought many people on here underrate Fielding but he looked awful and clumsy yesterday, lacked variety and spite in his punches tbh.

In my opinion he would be lucky to get 7 rounds overall against a champion long past his best.
