Do you watch MMA for the sporting competition, or just for the brutal violence?

Likewise, but it wasn't always that way.

Not to say I haven't channel surfed while two fighters remain in full guard.

 

It's just as annoying when one fighter leans on the fence and the other does nothing more than throw in the occasional halfhearted knee. Referees should be empowered and encouraged to move things along when these situations occur.

 

Ultimately, The UFC is responsible for what goes on in their octagon.

I don't know the unified rules, but K1 and Pride matches were fought at a much faster pace.

 

At first, it was actually the intrigue, violence, and Ken Shamrock that got me into MMA. first thing I saw was UFC 1, which wasnt all that great but interesting, then the next thing I saw were a few of the Ultimate KO DVDs, it was only once they started showing fights on Bravo that I appreicated it as a sport.

 

The UFC are responsible for what goes on in their octagon. But once a bout starts it's in the hands of the referees. I just think they should be lessening the down-time a little more to create an even better overall spectacle.

 

You realise that K-1 isn't MMA but a completely different sport?
