Lewis would have destroyed Ruiz, and that's coming from a guy who's not the biggest Lewis fan in the world.

I remember back then. I was upset when Holyfield vs Akinwande was canceled. I had it ordered and ready to go, I really wondered how Holyfield would have dealt with all of that height.

No he won't, at least not to anyone who's actually interested in boxing.
Ali-3 time champion, beat Liston, Foreman and Spinks.
Lewis- 2 time champion, beat Briggs and Rahman
Holyfield-2 time champion, beat Douglas and Bowe
Klitschko-paper champion, lost to Linear champion Lewis
Ruiz-paper titlist, never fought a champion.

Yes, that was set for June 1998.

Some felt that Akinwande's height, reach and jab-happy stay-the-hell-away-or-smother-on-the-inside offense would've given Holyfield problems and perhaps given him the points win, if an unpopular one.

I've always felt it was more likely that, while Akinwande would land a lot of jabs, Holy would be much the aggressor and land good shots on the inside, which would unnerve Akinwande, get the crowd roaring and get the judges' favour over the negative Akinwande for a UD12.

Exactly. Whenever Ruiz was forced to fight WITHIN the rules, he lost. Which is exactly what would have happened in this

Without the excessive holding and faked low blows, Ruiz is just another talentless palooka.

Yes, i wouldn't mind watching the same outcome as Ruiz/Tua.

Lewis's right hand or uppercut as Huggybear is coming in would have been sweet to see and witness.
