    Here's a better question:

Do yu think he would've elected to fight a primed Pernell Witaker?

In light of his cherrypickin' wayz, I'm doubting it quite seriously. :bbb

Been tons of these threads, the consensus is Whittaker wins.

No, the latter career Mayweather would never take a fight in which he'd be the 'dog.

I also believe Pernell beats Floyd easy.Pernell in his prime could stand right in front of you and you still couldn't hit him.Amazing.

He was truly amazing at dodgin' punches, and then would often quickly counter. The guy was a god in the ring.

No. Pernell was too good. I think Floyd loses a UD.

What's quite the statement is what was arguably a primed DLH barely slipped past a primed Whitaker.

Be a great fight. I lean to Whitaker but I think it would be close. Maybe the guys saying 9-3 would be right though, because Whitaker would probably win a lot of the close rounds.

    Be a great fight.

I see what alot of you guys are saying, but you guys are acting like Floyd is just your avg fighter. I mean Floyd does have skills too just in case you didnt know. PW would have a hard time hitting Floyd as well, some of you guys hate floyd so much, it makes you delusional.

PBF v Pea 135-147 are all tough chess matches that could be won by either guy. I'd favor Pea at 135-140, PBF at 147.

Actually, I believe PW is one of the few cases in which a victory would be quite a decisive one.

Why is this? Pea was clearly the better Welterweight, both in his accomplishments and in the ability he showed there. He retained a lot of his workrate and became an even better in-fighter at the higher weights, whereas Floyd just got more and more conservative. Compare Pea's wins over Chavez and McGirt to Floyd's top wins at the weight, like Hatton and Judah.
