Star in the Ring - is the first film about American Jews and Boxing. Dealing mainly between the 1st and 2nd World Wars.
Including interviews with Mike Silver, Bert Sugar, Budd Schulberg, Doug Century, Chuck Hasson, Max Baer Jr, Roy Tendler, Ron Ross, Sam Cohen, Herbie Kronowitz, Izzy Zerling, Morris Reif and others.
Anyone have any stories / input?
Always looking for pictures, footage and collectable material.
    Thanks!

Hope you have Solly Krieger in there. He was as tough a middleweight as that era had to offer.

One of my favorite stories of when Benny Leonard goes home with his black eye.

I made a thread about Leonard a while ago. There is some pictures , footage of fights , a documentary , interviews and some original articles.

You can not make this documentary without spending a lot of time of Leonard , the greatest Jewish fighter of all time.

You should consider including something on Joe Choynski and Tommy Ryan, both of whom were Jewish, although they don't fit with the timeline.

Solly Krieger was great! I am going to try to include as many people as I can. There will be four main profiles - Benny Leonard, Barney Ross, Lew Tendler and Maxie Rosenbloom. Around them, I will try to fit as many fighters as I can
    Thanks for the input!

Leonard was my favorite as well! I interviewed Lew Tendlers son - and Roy told me - what his father told him about the controversial fight that Leonard 'talked his way out of'. There was also more controversy in the 2nd fight which I didnt know about at all. As I want this documentary to be the best it can be - if you have had any interaction with old time fighters or any material that you think may be of interest to me - please let me know.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Max Baer's Jewishness is still up for debate with some.
