Seen Masher Dodd and Joe Cordina are fighting each other in a JD Next Gen show in Wales. Good step up for Cordina, think it will be a good fight. Whst is everyone's thoughts on it ?

Suprised tbh. I thought hearn would of brought masher back with an easy win,you know the usual stuff. Masher was/is a good ticket seller. A loss to cordina straight after the coyle loss could finish him.
Same goes for cordina as well.
    Interesting!

I'm not that surprised, Dodd is 33, he is coming off a stoppage defeat to Coyle, he don't really have that many options.

A vacant commonwealth title shot is about a sign good as it can get for him.

Excellent fight for Cordina at this stage in his career. Good to see Eddie is making the Nxtgen cards more competitive too.

Big fan of Dodd but I feel like that one defeat as consigned him to becoming an opponent for the contenders. Credit to Dodd for putting himself straight back in the mix, he’s all heart that lad. There was something missing from his performance against Coyle though, he was sat in the pocket that extra second longer than he normally would be, it was like the hard fights had caught up with him even in his own relatively short career. Hearn as spotted it and knows that with him also not being a concussive puncher, that Cordina will have the platform to really shine here.

    Cordina, TKO mid rounds.

It’s a great fight for Cordina. Gets to fight an experience challenger and warrior in Dodd. I expect Cordina to do him and it’s a great win on his resume at this early stage.

think he had too after some poor cards and 1/100 on every fight. Think good fight for both to see where they at .fair play all round. Good to see cards improving.

Yes, there was something notably missing from Dodd in the Coyle fight. Sometimes these guys let their own minds get the better of them and all kinds of demons can plague a fighter in certain bouts.
Doubt and uncertainty, under confidence and trepidition are bigger opponents than the man in front of you in many cases and whilst dodd had been in with the likes of cardle, so one would find it odd for him(dodd) to cur when hes in with tommy, sometimes these demons work in sneaky ways.
Or maybe he had simply struggled with the weight.
Whatever it was something was off for dodd that night.
I think dodd can take some confidence from the fact that cordina was beat by a fighter not many gave a chance to, in doyle.
Both Doyle and Dodd are with steve woods and will of probably compared notes. They must be up for it and will know this is potentialy dodds last roll of the dice

Dodd looked absolutely washed against Coyle so I expect Cordina to dispose of him equally easily. Still a step up of sorts though. Not sure I'd have this as main event because I think it will be very one-sided but I hope Dodd can make a fight of it. A real overachiever

Good post, i agree with you. If a fighter has good power and is a good boxer they should always beat Masher. If as i suspect Masher loses i hope he goes out being competitive ss he has done amaxing gurning his live round and having the career he has done. If Cordina loses and i mean this in no way disrespectful to Dodd, but it shows he isnt all that (i think he is though).
