Its was funny watching him clipping Vivian Harris time after time with lunging hooks on the way to a KO.

Maussa is the only fighter in the history of the sport capable of landing a rabbit punch on the back of the head of a fighter who is already flat on the canvas..... That in itself is incredible.

they only showed it once on Setanta but it looked like Matthews went down not particulary hurt, looked at the ref for the count, the count got to six, he got up and the ref waved it off.

Let me explain chaps. What we just watched was a great brawl between two fit , but very limited fighters. Dodson should have won it in the middle rounds but instead of stepping back, planting his feet, and delivering quality head shots , he opted for leaning in, left eye first, and punching himself out.
At no time ( and I mean no time!) was there any guile, or intelligence from either lad. Dodson snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
No doubt we will now see threads asking "Quigley v Macranelli - who would win?" but we shouldn`t take them seriously. Macranelli would destroy both these lads.
Yes it was a great scrap but someone should point out the glaring lack of quality here. I know that lots of British boxing fans don`t like to hear it but far too often our lads fall short when we go abroad. This pair put on an exciting show but don`t tell me I watched a classic!

sometimes you dont need guile for a great fight.gatti vs ward 1 was like a streetfight and that was a great fight.i didnt see tonights fight but it sounds great.and also what ****ing guile was there in prizefighter?

Grendal, not every fight is contested by Pernell Whittaker and Willie Pep. These guys fought at their level and put on a ****ing amazing fight, quit bitching about any short comings you see in guile and skill and appriciate it for what it was. A great British title fight, fought by two boxers who gave everything they had. If you think that standard is easy to get to maybe you should have a go yourself?
