I think his power is greatly underrated...Problem is to bother Shane I think you'd need great power and or a big size and reach advantage.... Can't see Shane being put out of his game by a smaller lighter hitting foe. Floyd can let his hands go and fight, but he'll have to get in Shanes comfort zone...Power is not everything, on the inside Shane will really be able to muscle him around.
I really don't see size coming into it. Mosley was never really that good above welterweight, and Mayweather settled into the division well and has been there for years now. How many of Mosleys attributes, most notably speed, he still has left will decide this match.
154 was way too much weight and a big size disparfity against most fighters there... Welter is his perfect fit zt this stage. Had he stopped by 140 I'm sure we would have seen brilliance, Mosley-Zoo would have been classic.Size may not be a factor cause they are the same size. It's the power that will cause trouble as much as Floyds movement, in my opinion..Shane will take him to the ropes and he has the speed to bother him there..
Well if he is more effective then yes, often fighters can get discouraged or desperate if they start to lose, it takes a very good boxer to weather a storm and turn the fight around! Where are you going with this?
Both men are great at what they do... Floyd from a technical standpoint is the best...Mosley has got so much power and speed packed into that frame that I can see him going through anyone..We know Floyd will connect cleaner early on but it ain't the power to keep Shane honest... I'd say Floyd in terms of power punching is a notch or so lower than Cotto or Marg and probably a few notches lower as far as strength goes...It's not impossible to close the distance on Floyd and get inside, We saw Oscar and short ass Ricky do this. They didn't have the right tools though to close the show, Marquez was just vastly undersized. Shane will be able to get in there and make a fight break out, Floyd may land cleaner but Shane will be dropping bombs with bad intentions. They'll count and I'm not sure if Floyd can handle it.. Not one of Floyds opponents at this weight has been as good as Mosley is.
I'd lean slightly towards him against any welter right now... I just wonder what makes people think Shane won't be effective and fully capable of dragging Floyd into a fight...When history shows that Shane has all the tools one would need to beat Floyd or at the least cause serious problems. The only question will be how this layoff effects Shane.
Im not sure who will really win, both are favourites of mine, I just think PBF is too slick and has enough power and more importantly accuracy to keep Shane very cautious. Most importantly he has a good chin so I dont think Shanes power will trouble him enough as he won't land often or flush enough and when he does it shouldnt worry PBF too much. I have however, been very wrong before!
in this fight the BB gun wins. There's a Myth in Boxing that Mosely is ome sort of great technical boxer. This is a Crock of ****. Mosely has always relied on his Physical Abilities . His speed power and Durability. he has great heart but his Boxing IQ is Nothing special. He's more of a speedy brawler . His fight agaist the stationary easy to hit, Margarito who seems to lack the ability to evade a punch has bossted this Myth. Look in his first fight he suckered DLh into a fire fight , in the 2nd Dlh boxed his ears off and was robbed. Vernon a far superior Boxer fundamentaly used his Jab and fundamental to Negate Mosely' speed. and beat him Twice. same goes for Winkey . then we has an above average Boxer but not great boxer in Cotto who managed to Out box Mosely by a couple of Rounds. PBF is a better fundamental Boxer then all the above. he's faster and smarter. and won't be suckered into a fire fight. Mosely get Embarassed in this fight in a lopsided decision. It will leave every body making excuses that Mosley got old over night and all the other crap. thing is Mosely will be befuddled even though he'll be in great shape.
mosley doesn't have the foot speed that hatton had in that fight. Hell hatton doesn't even have that foot speed anylonger. and Mosely doesn't work behind a stiff jab pressing foward like DLH can . he flicks his Jab out there.
Shane isn't a technician nor will he ever be..He is a boxer puncher with a bigger emphasis on punching.. He digs with all his shots and makes his guys work hard to keep him off them, the mans like a ****ing pitbull in there.Oscar at 154 was the better fighter so was Wink, but guess what that was a bad move and bad weight for Shane. He went chasing fame and money but his stature just wouldn't let him compete against the elite there. Forrest is a completely different animal than Floyd and Shane lost that due to height and reach as much as any style disadavntage. When Cotto boxed late he was losing rounds.. The misconception is Cotto outboxed Shane, completely wrong he outfought him when he won the rounds he did.. I also felt Shane did enough in the second half to win.Floyd doesn't fight like Cotto so it's wrong to compare cause his offense has never been as good as Cotto's at 147 which is waht won him the fight. There's gonna be no tricking Floyd into a firefight...Shane is simply good enough to make Floyd have to fight to have any chance at winning.. He can't backpedal against Shane all night, cause Shane will be able to quite easily close the gap..
