If you purport to be the savior of heavyweight boxing then get a fight against your desired opponent then embarrass yourself? No.
In regards to Haye he should have just postponed the fight, but yes any injury will change things in phyiscal sports.
Watch Haye dancing around and even leaping into the air, in round ten against Wlad, and the answer becomes an obvous "no."
The small toe on your foot shouldn't stop you from much. Plus they injected his toe with some pain **** basically. I'm sure it felt uncomfortable and a tad painful but when you're a true warrior, you fight on. Chambers fought Adamek with one arm,Ali fought with a busted jaw,Frazier fought with one eye,Holyfield fought with a heart condition etc A broken toe? And David looked like he was running pretty well anyway. Then he just had to wear sandals for the next month to sell the injury. What a *****.
My guess would be that it depends on the break and on the person. To some it might cause great discomfort, to others not so much. Having said that, I believe that if one feels as thought it would impair one's performance in such a way as to being unable to perform to the best of one's abilities, then one should not fight.
I've broken my toe, I was on the basketball team and played a full game hurting. I was still able to get what I needed done. I will say it hurt like a *****, and did slow me down a bit, the night of and weeks after.
Well Pac fans were crying foul when Juan was stepping on Pac's pinky toe, there were a bunch of topics on it,as if that is the reason why Juan one.... So to them it can make a difference in a fight "I don't agree" Depends on the fighter too,Bradley had too bad feet and finished the fight strong, while Mosley blamed his loss to Pac from blisters he had..
