Does a pre Don King prime Mike Tyson beat any fighter from any era?

I think funnily enough Vitali would be the biggest favourite to beat Prime Mike.
Vitali like no other knew how to use his size vs a smaller man and he had an ATG chin, I could see him getting a wide UD.

Exactly! Others mention Lewis and Wlad, but I dont think they have the chin to do it. Young Mike Tyson would land something big at some point, and could the two above mentioned take it? Especially Wlad, as he seemed to panic when tagged.

I give Wlad NO chance. Lewis could do it, if he brought his A game. But Vitali is the only guy I would consider a favorite against prime Tyson.

Edit: On second thought I would have Foreman and Ali as slight favorites as well.

AT heavyweight boxing only 1 punch can change history. So is the question CAN he do it? Answer is yes. IN the multiverse if he faced Ali 10 times I think he'd win some and lose some, same with Anthony Joshua, Lennox Lewis, Holyfield, etc. If the question is the favoured to win 6/10 of all matches ever? the answer for me is no.

He was matched with the best guys there were at the time.

Buster Douglas lost to Tony Tucker (was stopped by him) for the IBF title.

Tyson comprehensively outworked Tucker to unify the alphabet titles (a prime Tyson could go the full 12 hard if he had to - something later versions couldn't do).

Prime Tyson (up to the Spinks fight) beats all of the guys you mentioned. The Razor Ruddock & Buster Douglas fights weren't Tyson in his prime, imo. He was on the way down post Spinks.

As I said in my original post, any one of a number of fighters could have beaten him at that point (and did).

Prime Larry would have the best chance against Prime Tyson but I think Tyson does enough to get the decision.

I think Bowe gets put to sleep early.

AJ doesn't have the chin to withstand Iron Mike's ferocity & isn't quick enough to keep him off.

It was noticeable early in his fight with Parker that Parker had the better hand speed.

Iron Mike gets inside, hammers AJ on the chin with the heavy duty artillery & lays him out like a roll of carpet.

AJ might land a few bombs of his own but Prime Tyson had the chin to take them.

It’s a lazy argument to state that Tyson wasn’t prime at what, 23, when Douglas beat him. It’s also very convenient.

My opinion is Tyson's prime ended at the Spinks fight. He was unbeatable up to that point & beatable thereafter.

Tyson broke his hand in a street fight after Spinks. He took the longest layoff of his pro career to that point & resumed against Frank Bruno where he was very sloppy. Next fight was Carl Williams which lasted 93 seconds. Next fight was Buster Douglas.

His best sparring partner was Oliver McCall who he no longer used at that point.

He wasn't training as hard & he wasn't the same fighter. His prime was gone.

No fighter is unbeatable, not one.

Tyson "struggled" with Tucker/Smith...lol, if winning 22 rounds is "struggling" then pigs fly.

Tyson had the speed of a elusive middle weight with extreme power in both hands, textbook punching technique with either hand, granite chin, exceptional body work, fast of foot with excellent footwork and last but not least excellent defense......up to the Douglas loss you can count on one hand how many times he has been hit hard, Smith, Tucker and Bruno nailed him once or twice each and that was about it for his career before Douglas.

As far as to " big", lol , Tucker, Smith, Ruddock and especially Bruno, they were all tall , very strong and in Bruno's case, strong as a ox and he could not move Tyson in the clinch and his grabbing behind the head had zero impact.

AJ went life and death with a china chinned shot to pieces WK..........that would be a replay of the Bruno fight except shorter.

VK? lol, you mean the guy who quit against feather punching Byrd and his biggest claim to fame is TKO6 against a old Lewis ? Total beat down with VK's face is shredded like raw hamburger meat.

WK? Is that the guy who got pulverized by pro trial horse Purrity, blitzed by a no hoper Golfer and starched by a walking punch bag Brewster............in his PRIME.....I give him a pass for the AJ fight, he was done beyond done. Dont take a pizz, dont kiss your girl friend, dont grab a extra bear because that fight would be over in seconds not rounds.

Lewis ? Outstanding fighter with a chin as his major achilles heel.......if B level McCall and Rahman can ice him with ONE punch, Tyson can too.

Holyfield ? Tough as nails but the earlly pre juiced version likes to brawl and you cannot go toe to toe with Tyson, no way no how plus Tysons body punches would fold him eventually.

Old Foreman ? lol, that has to be a joke, you really have to hate Foreman if you unleash a prime Tyson on this fossil ,the beating Foreman would be receiving would be grotesque.

People have been brain washed by a decade and a half of the K brothers stinking out the joint and accepting that as the new norm. Straight out of a time machine a prime Tyson would absolutely wreck the current Heavyweight scene, bank on it but eventually once he cleaned out the scene he would self destruct similar to the Douglas debacle.

This is what I said against tucker it was already beginning to show that someone taller can be effective behind the jab.. Tyson knocked everyone out but
    Tucker 6’4
    Bone crusher Smith 6’4
    Mitch Green 6’5
All you had to do was withstood his assault and jab with efficiency which buster Douglas 6’4 was able to do..
Tyson was not last prime Buster Douglas just followed the game plan already laid out by previous tall fighters and did it effective..
Afterwards Tyson still took Ruddocks head off twice before the jail stint and after jail was when he was pas prime

The fact is Douglas shattered the Tyson myth forever. His dik riders still think that fight never happened, or the two fights vs Ruddock afterwards before the jail sentence. Spin forward to the two beatings he took from a roided up cruiser 4 years his senior.
