Yes, but what is he like without the modern training?

Joshua is without doubt a product of his environment. a beneficiary of the best over developed physical potential pushing that modern medical sports science can muster...

I think he is over-developed. It hinders his stamina quite a bit. But he is a specimen regardless. And he is the only Joshua that we can discuss. And the Dempsey that fought Brennan et. al. is the only Dempsey that we can discuss.

Dempsey of course would beat the very amateurish, musclebound, Joshua. Amateur vs an ATG fighter.

I'm picking Dempsey at the present time, but if Joshua had a lousy chin, he would not have gotten up from Wlad's right hand!

Because the most of them can't accept that the bigger super heavyweights from today would have beaten the
smaller heavyweights from the past, a fight between AJ and Dempsey would be like a fight between two different
weight classes, a small cruiserweight against a huge heavyweight.

Everybody who says Dempsey would beat AJ is ignorant and trying to discredit every fighter who is not
from 40 to 100 years ago.

@Okin129, I agree with the first part of your post. But some guys (well, mcvey at least) who picked Dempsey have proved in other discussions they don't fit the description in the second part.

Some guys are a little bit less biased but the usual suspects i was talking about fit the description very well.

    Probably not, let's be honest.

Dempsey might have the power to hurt him but Joshua has a solid technique and decent defence; he's no Willard.

If I were Jack I'd be more concerned as to what AJ might do to him.

JD always has a chance with his speed and power, but I favour Joshua here.

Prime Dempsey by murder....Wlad let him off the hook after the knockdown...Marciano...Dempsey...Joe Louis wouldn't have...

    Kind words Sir.I thank you.
I give Dempsey a great shot because of his speed into range , his incessant bobbing and weaving, his unreal power and the fact that he beat a succession of big guys.
I am less enthusiastic about Marciano's chances because of his lack of Dempsey like speed and his slower , more measured attack. But it's only personal opinion isn't it and therefore there's no need for anyone to be called an idiot.
