What positive claim did I make that carries the onus of furnishing a paper in support of it? (Not to split hairs but if I made such a claim I'm going to need more than one paper, actually.)

Boxers have always done "interval training".

    Any claims.

Every time someone disagrees with you, you demand peer reviewed scientific papers backing their positions.

If someone fails to reference science in their posts - for example, this most recent one I made about the sports community believing that interval training was beneficial - you seem to dismiss it.

This attitude makes me believe that you must have some peer-reviewed scientific papers backing some of your own positions and i'm curious to see them.

For example, you've claimed that "interval training is a new name not a new practice."

Let's see some peer reviewed science proving this.

Totally disagree. It's whole point is to find the most efficient way to get into the best shape possible.

Efficiency vs outcome is purely scientific.

Sure, produce more than one paper on your claims concerning interval training, outlined above.

    Yes, this is beyond dispute.

What I did say myself was that it appears to have been favoured less than extensive, repetitive runs in most quarters. Now I'd suggest that the pendulum has swung the other way. That is, most pro sportsmen use interval training.

It's a craft, he's right. But it's a craft that uses tools. Some tools exist now which did not exist x number of years ago; some beliefs are held now which were not held x number of years ago.

And these tools are used in the craft that is boxing training.

Specifically targeting fitness areas to improve.
    Using recovery times as barometers.
    Combining exercises to completely fatigue.

Various methods which are only recognised now.

If I say that a positive claim is undemonstrated, I don't adopt the same burden of proof as the person who makes it to begin with. I would adopt a similar burden if I were to actively assert that the claim is conclusively false rather than currently unsupported, as these are two very different things.

I literally just had to Google "interval training benefits study" and several sources appeared.

Craft, science, process .... I'll agree with all these terms and more.

Training is just training. I always say the results prove the training. The proof is in the pudding, as they say.
