Lennox was out of shape man. You're trying to rewrite history. Lennox was a great fighter but lacked commitment at times and could be very lazy. He seen Johnson as a walkover, quite rightly, and slacked off in training. He wasn't prepared for a tough fight. He's the better fighter, I have no doubt. On that night he let himself down. VK was a good fighter though, just not as well schooled as Lewis.

The Classic forum woud rightly reject this troll topic.

Given that an ancient Lewis, who used a zimmer frame to get to the ring, sliced Quitali's face up so much that the doctor had to stop the fight to save Quitali's eye, I'd say a prime Lewis would kill him.

Yes no doubt. Vitali would of been stopped by the 9th when they fought. He was ready to go.

I do laugh at people who seem to think being 2 rounds up halfway through a fight means the fighter ahead would win without a ko. Since when has scorecards after 6 rounds meant anything?

Prime Lewis couldn't take McCall and Rahman 10 out of 10. Don't kid yourself.

well, the worst lewis stopped him, so presumably prime lewis does it in half the rounds, stoppage in 3.

if you think that was prime Lewis against McCall and Rahman you need your head testing.

Was it prime Lewis that looked like shyte against global boxing sensation Levi Billups?

Or is Lewis only "prime" in the fights that he does well in?

I think lewis got a lot better as he aged, when he was prime he wasn't as schooled or experienced. I think it's quite possible Vitali would have knocked out Lewis prime for prime.

Technically he definitely improved. Physically, he regressed. He never kept himself in 100% condition. He was dying at the end of his fight with Klitschko.

I still think Vits can take him prime for prime, especially if you consider how damn consistent Vitali's performances were, whereas Lewis would blow hot and cold.

Anyway, mine's a minority opinion in Classic, and I understand why. The loss vs old Lewis speaks loudly, even though there's a lot more to it than TKO6.

Was he?! I saw an exhausted Lewis practically FALL on to his stool after spending the whole 6th round trying to get Vitali out of there. Something tells me that Fritz told Vitali to basically go for it in the next round because that cut wasn't getting better. You think Lewis, after blowing his wad in the 6th would have been able to stay upright after a few more Vitali right hands?? I don't

Prime Lewis would have destroyed vitali, an old, fat lewis damn nearly blinded vitali for life!! I can't believe this is actually a question it's like asking if a prime Russia would have beaten Germany in ww2!
