I think the point is that you tried correcting him first, your original comment implying that it was impossible to judge someone's "diction" from what they type.
He used the word correctly though. So if you were trying to correct him you were wrong.
The word has more than one meaning, yes. MrDagoWop's use of the word was correct under at least one of those meanings.

But I'd like to say thanks to both of you for this very educational stuff.
I wasn't 100% sure what diction meant prior to reading your exchange either. :)

Yes I opened the batting , making a poor joke which he didn't appreciate and began hostilities , he was correct in his use of the word. His further responses omitted to say there are several definitions of it including enunciation. All I wanted was an admission that this was the case.Instead I got this.
"You're annoying, have **** boxing opinions, and think just because you're old that you have some sort of authority.

**** you conservative baby boomer stereotype. You're fake news. "

    I responded in kind.
    Much ado about nothing really.
Id be hurt if his opinion meant anything to me, but it doesn't and I'm not.

Yet you are one of the many people on here who immediately resorts to name calling, mocking, and other insults whenever somebody doesn't agree with you.

    Quit with the projecting.

Are you positive you are using the word" projecting," in the right context here?

    Only joking !

I don't give my own opinions on boxing enough credit to insult anybody for disagreeing with them. If this is the "little duck" etc aimed at you I would advise growing a thicker skin.

Is projecting when you call someone a name because that is how you see yourself?

"So you're Dago Wop? I've heard about you."
    "What have you heard Shane?"
    " I've heard that you're a lowdown Yankee liar!"

Projecting is when you perform a action but instead of acknowledging that you do it you accuse others of it and deny that you yourself perform this action. That's the gist at least.

I'd like to have boxing conversation just leave out the trash talk. Whether it be from me, you, or whoever. It's fine to make funny jokes but straight up making posts to talk **** to people is not ok.

Wlad hit harder than Marciano, probably quite a bit harder, and decked Joshua with a picture perfect right hand. Joshua got up and survived (which also had a lot to say about Wlad's finishing strategy).

Rather than be concerned how hard Marciano could hit, I would be more concerned how hard he could get hit and still stand.

I'm factoring in Rock is a bit heavier and conditioned than the 50s version. It's not fair the old timers don't get the benefit of the diets and training of modern fighters. That's assuming Joshua is clean which I have doubts about.

I don't doubt Joshua could deck Marciano and knock him out. The size difference is considerable, maybe insurmountable. You'd probably have to believe Ward and Kovalev could beat Joshua to include Marciano, which might be possible, who knows.
