Yup, it's all over, I don't know why Abraham will even bother to show up. We all know that the taller man always wins, e.g., Williams vs. Quintana I.
Yes, this is a bit sad, because Taylor would've two more fights to go and still have the chance to reach the semi-finals. Taylor lost against Pavlik and Froch - they're not exactly bums. You can lose against them without being shot. Even JT can lose against them without being shot and it's the same if he would lose against AA tonight. In support of Boo I've to admit that he's right in one point. It's always something else to face an unbeaten fighter. The unbeaten JT would've been even stronger, because he would be full of self-confidence. JT looked a bit tense against Froch and on the recent weigh-in pics he looks tense again. The "0" may be an important factor tonight. AA will do everything to stay unbeaten...
Ikeke is the only fighter taller than JT. If AA approached Jermain the same way he approached Ikeke, it would take Sauerland and Wegner a week to find all the parts to Arthur's head.
If you go from back to back wins over Hopkins all the way down to losing to Abraham, it's time to go home and take the kids fishin'.
If not taller, Abraham's last couple opponents were around the same height as Taylor. The height doesn't mean much, but the step up in class does. Taylor's a step up for Abraham and the biggest test so far for him.
JERMAIN TAYLOR'S BEST WEIGHT CLASS WAS AT MW. I don't care if Pavlik has his number, he always will! Jermain Taylor at 168 is VERY beatable. The Lacy fight should prove this. Expect Jermain T vs J Lacy style of boxing tomorrow with AA the victor! AA KO JT ROUND 8
Boo IF he loses to Arthur, he has a good chance of beating his next 2 opponents remember that. And the same goes for arthur, unfortunately I don't share the same enthusiasm like other posters do. Direll beats Arthur.
. . . and JT's strong point is keeping his opponent outside where he has the advantage . . . he can't do an infighting . . . so expect Abraham to be close . . . digging deep.
If Abraham keeps it close, Jermain should go to his body in return. AA has a great chin, but his body might not as strong, and with that high guard, Jermain will get oppenings if he mixes it up high and low. I think this is one of the keys to Jermain winning the fight, but I don't remember the last time I saw great body punching from him.
I wrote my analysis in a different thread Cali on how to beat arthur in my opinion. My first point was the above highlighted. Marquez hurt him to the body. It is obvious you need to make it a habit to go to his body as early as possible. I still think his defense is top notch, not perfect but gets the job done. Absolute solid chin, one of the best in boxing. Also another good point you make is JT IS NOT A BODY PUNCHER! This fight is making me really impatient man! I don't think any of the other fights is as evenly matched as this one.
